BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 28th JANUARY 2026 THE STATE OF A SINNER Ephesians 2:12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. (NIV) Reading this above scripture and seeing the state of a sinner should inspire us to go out and win them for Christ. They are the reason Jesus died. Matthew 9:13 But go and learn what this means: ’I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." He came to call sinners out of their state of doom.  Apostle Paul speaking to the Ephesian church in Ephesians 2:12, reminded them of the state they were before they received Jesus and got saved. It's a state or condition you shouldn't wish anybody. He said "remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promi...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 27th JANUARY 2026 LOOK AWAY FROM THEM Hebrews 12:2 Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (AMP) In a world where there are many things that seeks to distract, one has to deliberately keep focus on Jesus. Things that would distract you would come freely, you will have to make conscious effort to look away from them.  Hardship or hard times could be a distraction from what the Lord has laid in your heart to accomplish. Good things and good times could also be a distraction. You have to manage what you give attention to. It might seem good but could be distracting. The Bible says "Looking...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 26th JANUARY 2026 ALL YOU REQUIRE Numbers 14:8 If the LORD is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. (NIV) When the twelve returned whom Moses had sent to explore the land they wanted taken over, ten of them gave Moses and the Israelites a very bad and distressing report.  Read Numbers 13:27-28,31, "They gave Moses this account: "We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit. But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there. But the men who had gone up with him said, "We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are." Then Joshua and Caleb who were among the twelve spoke up and pin-pointed all that they required. They said "If the LORD is pleased with us,..."  Numbers 14:6-8 Joshua son of Nun ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 25th JANUARY 2026 THE HAPPENING DOESN'T DEFINE YOU Judges 6:12 When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, he said, "The LORD is with you, mighty warrior." (NIV) Don't let the happenings around you define you, if you do you will be subject to them and unable to change them. But define or change the happenings around you by recognizing and applying who you are in Christ.  When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, he said, "The LORD is with you, mighty warrior." Gideon had become so subject to the happenings around him and all his experiences. With this he belittled himself. He allowed the happenings to define him. You will understand this from his response to the angel, in Judges 6:13, "Pardon me, my lord," Gideon replied, "but if the LORD is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, ’Did not the LORD bring u...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 24th JANUARY 2026 AT HOME IN HIM 1 John 5:20 We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. (NIV) This above scripture is so beautiful, inspiring and comforting. What could be more than being in God? These are not mere sayings; the above scripture is not a figure of speech or parable.  The Lord Jesus came to give us understanding of the Kingdom and to reveal the Father to us, that we might know Him. And now the Bible says, "And we are in Him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life."  We are in God and God is in us. It is our present-hour reality. Don't look at your body and ask, 'am I really in God?' It is your spirit that is in God, your body is given you to express your spirit.  Apostle Paul spoke in the ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 23rd JANUARY 2026 A CREATIVE FORCE Genesis 1:3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. (NIV) The spoken Word of God is a creative force. It carries within it the ability to do or create what it says. Everything God created He actually created by speaking forth. They all came to be as He declared. He said let there be light and there was light. His Word created light out of darkness.  2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. He commanded the light to shine out of darkness. His spoken Word is a command, it is a law. When He spoke everything was subject to that law and conditioned to work in conformity to produce light.  And today He has caused that light to shine in our hearts, and that light has given us the knowledge of the glory of God in the revelation of Jes...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 22nd JANUARY 2026 THE PRESENT GLORY Haggai 2:9 ’The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the LORD Almighty. ’And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the LORD Almighty." (NIV) When the Israelites who returned from exile began to rebuild the temple of God in Jerusalem which had been destroyed by the Babylonians, the word came by Prophet Haggai, in Haggai 2:3, he said ’Who of you is left who saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Does it not seem to you like nothing?" Then he prophesied, ’The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the LORD Almighty. ’And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the LORD Almighty." - Haggai 2:9.  First, this prophecy was concerning the temple they were rebuilding at the time. Secondly, for the church that was to come. The glory of our present day church is ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 21st JANUARY 2026 SEE GOD AS A JUDGE Hosea 14:2 Take words with you and return to the LORD. Say to him: "Forgive all our sins and receive us graciously, that we may offer the fruit of our lips. (NIV) Hosea the Prophet gave this prophetic words to the Israelites. He asked them to take words with them and return to the Lord, and it connotes presenting one's case before a judge, taking words to argue your case. When we pray to God, there is the kind of prayer that we should see God as a judge. Then, we present our case with evidence from the scriptures to argue our case why what we demand should be granted us.  The Lord Jesus told a parable to stress the importance of praying and to keep praying until we get what we demand. I would like us to read the entire parable.  Luke 18:1-7 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: "In a certain town there was a judg...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 20th JANUARY 2026 THE ROYAL LAW; THE KINGDOM LAW; THE SUPREME LAW James 2:8 If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, "Love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing right. (NIV) The one law that governs the Kingdom of God is love. The Bible says "Love your neighbor as yourself." This is the Kingdom law and it is the supreme law. Love is all important; loving God and loving people is the way of life. Mark 12:33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices." It's interesting to know that loving God with your all and loving your neighbour as you love yourself is more important and rewarding than burnt offerings and sacrifices. In fact the offerings and sacrifices of one who doesn't love God and people is detestable to God.  Love is the only debt we owe ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 19th JANUARY 2026 WALK BY THE SPIRIT Galatians 5:16-17 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. (NIV) The highest struggle of a Christian is not against the devil but against the flesh. What do you mean by the flesh? It means the natural craving, desires, thoughts and dictates of the human senses.  The human body with its senses is the instrument for living in this physical world. You don't have to have a body to be you, but you have to have a body to express you in this world.  The body's default function is by its sense organs; it functions only by what it hears, sees, feels and perceives. Anything outside this is uncomfortable and unnatural to it. It fights it. But the Holy Spirit you have received is...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 18th JANUARY 2026 SOWING TO PLEASE THE SPIRIT Galatians 6:8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. (NIV) Sowing to please the Spirit simply means doing things to please the Spirit, that is, following His leading; doing God's Word.  When one do things to please the flesh; follow mere natural instincts and desires of the flesh it results in death; failure, defeat and damnation. But sowing to please the Spirit is eternal life.  When it says "whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life" it does not mean he will receive eternal life because he already has it. It means he will live in God's presence eternally (hereafter).  When it has to do with sowing by the spirit or spiritually it really has to do with words. Words are seeds. Here, two source of words matters; words from you and ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 17th JANUARY 2026 HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT James 4:6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble." (NIV) Grace is a supernatural enablement or endowment which gives us the advantage in every situation or circumstance. When we are faced with a tough situation or circumstance God gives us more grace; more supernatural enablement or endowment to give us the advantage in and over that situation. This simply means the tougher things get for us the greater is our grace.  God may not take away every daulting challenge you face but will always give you the sufficient grace to go through it.  2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. This grace (supernatural enablement) is more visible ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 16th JANUARY 2026 FAITH AND ACTION WORKS TOGETHER James 2:21-22 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. (NIV) True faith is action. Faith is not mere mental assent but a conviction of the spirit that propels one to action. Faith is a force which condition your spirit to act in line with the Word.  Abraham's faith was credited to him as righteousness based on what he did, not based merely on what he heard and assented. If you heard the Word and believe you won't get the results just by that. You will have to act on the Word. It is when the Word you heard become action that you get the reward of faith.  Faith and action works together to produce result. The first working of faith is talking the Word you heard and believed. But that's just the begi...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 15th JANUARY 2026 ETERNAL KING; ETERNAL PRIEST Revelation 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. (KJV) The Lord Jesus actually made us kings and priests unto God and His Father, and we are because He is our head. We are the reflection and expression of who He is. And that includes being King and Priest.  Jesus is an eternal King-Priest in the order of Melchizedek. And we are in the order of Jesus.   Hebrews 7:1,3,17,24 This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him, ...Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever. For it is declared: "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek." but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Jesus i...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 14th JANUARY 2026 BE SERIOUS, INTENTIONAL AND CONSISTENT 1 Corinthians 9:24-25 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. (NIV) If you will win in life you must apply this above scripture. When athletes compete it is only one person who comes out the winner. For anyone to win he must go into strict training. In your dealings in life you must be strict; serious, intentional and consistent. First, with the Gospel. Your attitude towards the propagation of the Gospel matters a lot. It is not enough to be interested or even have the desire to further the Gospel, you must also be serious, intentional and consistent about it.   1 Corinthians 9:24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run,...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 13th JANUARY 2026 DON'T BE SUBJECT TO EVIL RULES Colossians 2:22 These rules, which have to do with things that are all destined to perish with use, are based on merely human commands and teachings. (NIV) There are people who believe that if you wash your hands with warm water money would no longer stay in your hands. Among different tribes, ethnics and people you would find many human rules, commands and teachings that sound true but are not true at all. Don't be subject to such rules. The Bible says "They are based on merely human commands and teachings." Don't live your life in subjection to the rules and rudiments of men. They may appear to be true or wise but they make one slave and unproductive. Don't find yourself running your life under the teachings or principles lay down by mere men; they are actually evil rules.  Such rules and regulations may have appearance of wisdom. But it's not. Colossi...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 12th JANUARY 2026 CREDITED TO YOUR ACCOUNT Philippians 4:17 Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account. (NIV) The Apostle Paul said to the church at Philipi, "not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account." Their givings were being credited to their heavenly accounts. Each one of them had an account in heaven. And we too have.  When the topic of supporting the cause of the Gospel financially and materially comes up some people tend to be uncomfortable and uninterested but it is for our advantage individually. That's why Paul said to the Brethren "not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account." In other words he meant "it's not about me, it is about depositing funds into your heavenly account so that you don't get broke when you get there." Matthew 6:19-21 "Do not stor...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 11th JANUARY 2026 PUT IT INTO PRACTICE Philippians 4:9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me —put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. (NIV) Apostle Paul writing to the church in Philipi made it clear to them that they had to put the Word of God they had learned or received or heard from him or seen in him into practice. The only way they could have the Word produce result for them and also give them peace was by practicing it.  Merely hearing the Word won't change anything but doing it would.  James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. How do we practice the Word? First, it is by keeping the Word in our heart and in our consciousness. Secondly, by talking it to yourself and those around you. Let people hear from your mouth the Word you believe. James 1:25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 10th JANUARY 2026 EVERYTHING UNDER HIS CONTROL Philippians 3:21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. (NIV) The Lord Jesus has brought everything under His control. Everything in heavens, on earth and beneath the earth are under the control of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Someone might say, 'how about all the evils that are happening on earth, is Jesus in control of them?' Not a bad question. Let's look at the scriptures. Ephesians 1:22-23 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. The church is the fullness of Christ; that is, His completeness. Jesus is not complete without His body, the church. He rules the earth and in the earth through the church. Revelation 5:10 And hast made us...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 9th JANUARY 2026 THE SAME MISSION WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT John 15:26-27 "When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father —the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father —he will testify about me. And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning. (NIV) Even though we go about our business, job and other pursuit, our mission on earth is well spelt out in the scriptures. And it is the same mission that the Holy Spirit has on earth. The Lord Jesus said of the Holy Spirit "He will testify about me." And of us He said "And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning." We have the same mission with the Holy Spirit to testify about Jesus. Our mission is to testify about His life, death, burial and resurrection, and what it means to man. Through the witness of this, we are to bring men out of darkness into light, turn them from the power of satan unto Go...
