(NIV) The Bible instructs us to guide our heart, and one of the things we should guard against is worrying. Your heart is your life. The state of your life is directly connected to the state of your heart. Once you are unrest inside it shows outside. Guard against worrying. The word 'guard' in the above scripture connotes setting something up to stop entering. It means to set up a guard on your heart to stop the contraries from going in. And one of your such contraries is worrying. The only thing you can set up in your heart to stop worries from going in is the word of God.  If you allow worries into your heart it will affect your whole life. Your life would be full of worries and unrest. Unrest in home, business, marriage, ministry, workplace, everything that concerns you would experience ...

And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. (NIV) The Bible tells us that the earth was in chaos; it was without form and void, darkness was over the face of the deep. It couldn't be worst than that. But the Spirit of God was the answer. He moved upon the waters and God said let there be light and there was light. Two things are required to produce light (answer, solution); the Spirit and the word. How many people's lives are in chaos today! How many are tired of their situation, people around them and even themselves. Yeah, some are tired of themselves. BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 26th AUGUST 2026 WALK OUT OF SICKNESS Matthew 8:17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: "He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases." (NIV) Christianity is living in the light of what the Lord Jesus has done for us. The Christian is not supposed to accommodate sickness in his body because Jesus took it away. The Bible says "He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases." So where does a christian get sickness from? From ignorance. He did not know that Jesus took infirmities and diseases to hell and left them there. Or he did not know that it is a now-reality. You can live in perpetual health. It starts with the word in our heart and then in your mouth. Never allow sickness in your body. It's illegal and is not real. It is not real because it's not in the place where you are in Christ. (NIV) In the book of Acts chapter number two after the Holy Spirit came on the disciples and they began speaking in tongues the people around mistaken them for drunkards but Peter addressed them saying "this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel." In other words the days spoken of by Prophet Joel are here. Acts 2:14-17 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: "Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. (NIV) A spacious place is an environment of peace where there is no contention against you and your endeavour. This doesn't mean that there are no adversaries in this place but that they are defeated and paralyzed before you such that they are not factors.  When you come into a place and there are oppositions against you what God does is either subdue your enemy in such a way that they surrender and be at peace with you, or completely defeat them before you such that none of their weapon against you can prevail.  Isaac dug a well of water but the people of the land quarrelled over it, he left it for them and dug another yet they disputed about it also. (NIV) Three things God has given us to live a successful life throughout our time here on earth; His Word, His Name and His Spirit. But if we are not trained to live in them we won't be the success He desires. Kind David said in our theme scripture "He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze." Back in David's days he went to war, physical war with other nations, and he said God trained him to fight and to bend a bow of bronze. In our day today, we don't go out for war as did David. But there are confrontations of life which are not physical combat but a fight to be a success for God with Gospel of Christ. He trains us to face them and win.
