BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 21st AUGUST 2026 REMEMBER WHERE HE BROUGHT YOU Exodus 23:9 "Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners in Egypt. (NIV) God instructed the Israelites not to oppress or ill-treat the foreigners living among them. He didn't say much, He said "you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners in Egypt." God wanted them to remember that. A lot of times we don't remember where God picked us from, what we were and how we were. Some of us become arrogant and proud and put people into what they themselves were delivered from. The Israelites would have ill-treated the foreigners among them if God had not reminded them that they themselves were foreigners in Egypt.  We know what it is to be cheated, betrayed or oppressed but when some of us are privileged to get into a place of power we forget so soon and do the same to others. ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 20th AUGUST 2026 GOD CONSCIOUSNESS Jeremiah 51:50 Ye that have escaped the sword, go away, stand not still: remember the LORD afar off, and let Jerusalem come into your mind. (KJV) Jeremiah the Prophet gave this instruction to the Israelites who were in captivity in Babylon. He said in essence "though you are far from Jerusalem the city of God, and where His temple is, remember the Lord and let Jerusalem come into your mind." Though they were in captivity far away from their land there was the expectation for them to keep Jerusalem in mind. To live with the consciousness of Jerusalem because there was the temple of God; God's house. Often times the Israelites who were far off from Jerusalem would pray looking towards Jerusalem. Daniel in the book of Daniel would open his window in the direction to Jerusalem and prayed. They had that consciousness. Have a consciousness of God. Today we don't have to look towards Je...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 19th AUGUST 2026 HE LEADS YOU BASED ON YOUR MATURITY Exodus 13:17 When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, "If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt." (NIV) Reading this above scripture it's amazing that God would lead the Israelites through the longest route even though they were in a hurry to get away from the Egyptians. God is more interested in the process and durability than quick results. There was a short road to the promised land yet He led them through the longest road where there was the red sea because of their level of maturity. God said to Himself, "If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt." Because they were not matured enough. But with the red sea on that long route they couldn't go back to Egypt even when they desired to. They suffered throu...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 17th AUGUST 2026 LIFE IS FOR PLEASURE Psalms 16:11 You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. (NIV) It is clear from the book of Genesis that God didn't intend suffering for man. He created everything; all that man would need before He formed man. He didn't create man, and say to him 'wait while I make things ready for you.' no! He made sure everything was ready before bringing man into the scene. God didn't intend hardship. He placed everything in the garden of Eden and ask man to enjoy. Pleasure is of God. Suffering and hardship is clearly seen in Genesis 3:17 as a curse that resulted from man's disobedience. Pleasure is blessing, pleasure is of God. Pleasure is not the same thing as revelry. Revelry is self-indulgence. Revelry is eating, drinking and celebrating to satisfy the flesh, often it is placing so-called pleasure a...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 16th AUGUST 2026 BURDEN IS ESSENTIAL Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." (NIV) It's important to take note of what Jesus said in this above scriptures. He invites the weary and burdened, and offers them rest. But He didn't stop there He asks them to take up His yoke and said "For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." He didn't say there is no burden but that His burden is light. Burden is essential. Someone has to have a burden, a concern, a pursuit. Something you live for. Everyone in the world has a burden. Everyone is living for something. But there are those whose burden wearies and are bent over with loads of life. Jesus says "my burden is light."  Instead of carrying ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 15th AUGUST 2026 PRAYER KEEPS YOU IN GOD'S WILL Matthew 26:41 "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." (NIV) Jesus during His days on earth prayed often, first for fellowship with the Father, second to keep Himself in God's will and purpose. His personal prayer to God was not of needs. He was not asking God for things. Understanding and committing oneself to these purpose in prayer is paramount to filling divine purpose.  Your prayer life should be much more than a means to ask things from God. You won't even enjoy the pleasure of praying if it's always about your needs. Just spend time talking to God about His goodness, mercy, love and blessings in your life. Worship, listen and enjoy His presence. Pray often in other tongues. Doing these keeps you in His will.  This is one of the reasons when you are praying to God about a particular thing ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 14th AUGUST 2026 THE EXCELLENCY OF WISDOM Ecclesiastes 7:12 For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it. (KJV) Money is surely a defence. Money is surely an answer. Money does so much but it cannot give life. Money is a shelter as wisdom is a shelter but the excellency of wisdom is that it gives life. Money is a spiritual substance as wisdom is a spiritual substance but wisdom is a living thing. Money is indispensable on earth just as wisdom but wisdom exceeds time; that means unlike money wisdom will be required in heaven. The excellency of wisdom. God doesn't want His children to live without wisdom. Wisdom is life. There is the wisdom of men, wisdom of the world, earthly wisdom, but there is the wisdom of God. This is what gives life and makes men excellent and outstanding success in life. And this wisdom is given to us freely. 1 Corinthian...
