It does not begin with striving. It does not begin with effort. It begins with a death — and a belonging.   First, death. The law once had a claim on you. It said: "Do this, achieve that, be perfect, or face judgment." But through the body of Christ, you died to those rules. The old transaction of earning your standing before God is finished. What is dead cannot be resurrected into obligation — grace has buried it.   Second, belonging. "That you might belong to another." Your identity is no longer rooted in performance. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand." – Romans 14:4 (NIV)   Judgment is a heavy garment that does not fit the child of God. When you look at a fellow believer and find fault with their choices, their pace, or their convictions, Paul asks a piercing question: "Who are you?" You are not the Master. You do not own them. They are servants of Christ, accountable to Him alone. To judge them is to usurp the throne of God.   Notice the stunning confidence in this verse: "And they will stand."
