STRENGTHEN OTHERS

Luke 22:32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers." (NIV)

In the cause of our journey through this world we face many trials and hard times which tends to prove our faith. All those times the Lord helps you.

On one occasion the Lord said to Peter, in Luke 22:31-32, "Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail...."
It was about his faith. If his faith was strong enough the Master wouldn't bother praying for him, knowing that his faith would prevail victoriously over the wiles of satan.
The Lord prayed for him that his faith would not fail. And said to him "And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."

He gave him the responsibility to also strengthen others as He did for him.
He didn't criticize him but prayed for him. How we should do the same today! When we find a brother or sister going the wrong way our job is not to condemn him or her, or run commentary with his life but to pray for him. We should strengthen him that his faith fail not. 1 John 5:16 If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life...."

Many times we too have found ourselves in faith-challenging circumstances. In some cases we said or did what we shouldn't but God forgave us, showed us mercy and brought us out of it. Shouldn't we do the same to others? Shouldn't we pray for them as the Lord did and even instructed us to strengthen others?

Stop looking to your own interests only and start looking out for those of others too.
Philippians 2:4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

Pray for those whose faith is getting weak, encourage the timid, give to the needy and support those in desperate situation. Strengthen others, look to the interest of others.

PRAYER

Father I am grateful for the privilege to pray for others, strengthen and encourage the weak, help the needy and to be a blessing. I look not only to my interest but to the others to be a blessing to them, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
