THE WONDERS OF WISDOM Chapter 10 episode 1

WISDOM DO GOOD

We already know that wisdom is known for its deeds. Wisdom is no wisdom if it is not practiced. True wisdom is practicable.

One of the marks of wisdom is good deeds. A wise man does good. It takes loyalty to wisdom (God's Word) to do good. God's Word teaches us to do good. But a foolish man withhold good.

DO NOT WITHHOLD GOOD

Proverbs 3:27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.

Good is an element of righteousness. Wisdom too is an element of righteousness. One of the things that sets one apart as wise and righteousness is good deeds. If you find yourself in a position to render help don't withhold it. A wise person doesn't act unbecoming.

If you find a person who hoard to himself you find a foolish person. Greed stems from foolishness; they are relatives. It is lack of understanding that leads to greed. If you understand God's wisdom; God's perspective you would give, you would do good. Wisdom does good.

NEVER SAY "COME BACK TOMORROW."

Proverbs 3:27-28 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. Do not say to your neighbor, "Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you" — when you already have it with you.

When it is in your power to act now, never say " come back tomorrow." It is not wise to say such thing. It is not wise to be greedy and wicked. A wicked person is not wise. A wise person is not wicked.
At times we don't know when we begin to act wickedly. To some of us wickedness has to do with serious actions like murder, stealing, adultery, fighting, witch-craft, hatred but greed is just as wicked as murder and hatred.

Hatred is equal to murder. He who hates his fellow murders him in his heart. Infact murder is as a result of hatred. Before anyone would murder he must have nurtured hatred against his victim for a long time. Murder is just a fruit of hatred.
1 John 3:15 Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.

Rebellion equals witch-craft and stubbornness equals iniquity and idolatry.
1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. (KJV)

God had said to Saul through Samuel the Prophet to go and attack and destroy the Amalekites for what they did to the Israelites on their way from Egypt but Saul rejected God's Word (God's wisdom). He acted how he wanted; he killed the people, spared their king and took away all the good things he could find in the city. And that Samuel said Saul's rebellion and stubbornness was equal to witch-craft, iniquity and idolatry. Think about that! It is not acting in wisdom; not acting in wisdom is not only acting foolishly but also rebelliously and stubbornly.

Saul rejected acting in wisdom and he was rejected from being king. Think about the consequences of not acting in wisdom. Saul had the opportunity to do good. It was in his power to do what the Lord has commanded him but chose to act differently. If it is in your power to do good, don't say "come back tomorrow."

Read this and note what exactly the Lord asked king Saul to do.
1 Samuel 15:3 Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.’"
Then read this and note what exactly king Saul did.
1 Samuel 15:9 But Saul and the army spared Agag and the best of the sheep and cattle, the fat calves and lambs —everything that was good. These they were unwilling to destroy completely, but everything that was despised and weak they totally destroyed.
What led to this? Greed! Where does greed spring from? Foolishness. Saul and his men for their greed and foolishness kept the good things to themselves even though God had expressly commanded them to destroy everything.

Do not become greedy. Do not withhold good from those it is due when it is in your power to act. Never say "come back tomorrow." Tomorrow might be too late, tomorrow might never come. Proverbs 3:27-28 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. Do not say to your neighbor, "Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you" — when you already have it with you.

TO WHOM IS GOOD DUE?

Good is due to anyone in need. Anyone close to you who is in need is due for your good. God might be using you as a channel, don't resist flowing. You know he could change the channel, He replaced Saul with David. When it is in your power to do good don't say no. When you have the opportunity to do good don't reject it. You might as well be rejecting your privilege position, and you won't know it. Wisdom does good, if you are wise do good.

DON'T PLAN HARM; DON'T ACCUSE

Proverbs 3:29-30 Do not plot harm against your neighbor, who lives trustfully near you. Do not accuse anyone for no reason — when they have done you no harm.
Don't plan against anyone, don't accuse anyone falsely. It is not wise to do so. Wisdom does good, be wise and do good. Hallelujah!
