THE WONDERS OF WISDOM chapter 9 episode 1

WISDOM FROM HEAVEN

James 3:17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

Earlier in the chapter we said there are mainly two kinds of wisdom; human wisdom and God's wisdom. Human wisdom is earthly wisdom. God's wisdom is heavenly wisdom. 
Earthly wisdom is inspired by the standards and spirit of the world. While heavenly wisdom is inspired by the standards and Spirit of God. Heavenly wisdom is unveiled and unleashed into the heart of a man by the Holy Spirit. 
1 Corinthians 2:10,13 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.

Heavenly wisdom is spiritual realities. Speaking heavenly wisdom is speaking spiritual realities. Spiritual things are not intangible things, no! They are unseen tangibilities behind physical tangibilities. Every physical tangibility has spiritual tangibility. Living in wisdom is living in spiritual reality.

The wisdom that comes from heaven is Godly, it is divine, it is the mind of God. 

EARTHLY WISDOM

James 3:15 Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.

Earthly wisdom is the reasoning, attitude and action that lines up with physical senses and earthly judgment. It is unspiritual, that is, it cannot think or see beyond the earthly realm. His final judgment or decision is based on senses. His sense-realm is his only existence. Anything outside the sense-realm is non-existence.
It is demonic; easily taken advantage of by demons and sponsored by demons. Obviously this kind of wisdom cannot please God.

Two of the many signs of earthly wisdom are; bitter envy and selfish ambition in the hearts.
James 3:14 But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.

Did you notice that it says bitter envy and selfish ambition IN YOUR HEARTS? It's always first in the heart. That's why it might take long for you to know those who have bitter envy against you and those who harbor selfish ambition. You won't know until it grows out from them. Be careful of people whom you notice bitter envy and selfish ambition they are extremely dangerous. Beware!

SIGNS OF HEAVENLY WISDOM

How would you know a man who is functioning by heavenly wisdom? There are signs. In this context of Apostle James writings we find the signs or some of the signs of heavenly wisdom.

1. By good life
Heavenly wisdom is recognized by a good life. A good life simply means a Godly life. It means a peaceful and quiet life free from haphazardness and being troublesome. 1 Timothy 2:2 ...that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
James 3:13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.

2. Deeds done in humility
Good deeds is good only when it is done in humility. It is heavenly wisdom when you do good with a humble heart.

3. No bitter envy
James 3:14 But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.

One who possesses heavenly wisdom doesn't harbor bitter envy. He won't have to envy anyone because wisdom taught him that all things are his; he got the best of things and doesn't have to envy anyone.

4. No selfish ambition
The ambition of one who has heavenly wisdom is the ambition of God to have all men saved and come to a knowledge of the truth. A truly wise person in the things of God doesn't have selfish ambition. God's ambition is his only ambition; every other ambition are brought under this.

5. Does not deny the truth
One who is wise according to the Word of God, the truth of God cannot deny the truth. He cannot deny the truth of the Gospel; Jesus' virgin birth, sinless life, crucifixion, vicarious death and victorious resurrection, and the blessings and benefits that follows.

6. First of all pure
James 3:17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

The thoughts, words and actions of a heavenly wise man is pure. He doesn't speak guile, unwholesome and fearful words. 

7. Peace loving
He is a lover and seeker of peace. He promotes peace. He conveys peace. He shares peace.

8. Considerate
A wise man is a considerate man. He is not mean but think of others as he would think of himself.

9. Submissive
He is not a rebellious person. But submissive to laws and authorities.

10. Full of mercy
He not only rely on God's mercy but also show mercy to his fellow man. He is a dispenser of God's mercy.

11. Full of good fruit
His life is full of good fruits. That is, righteousness, peace, joy, prosperity, liberality, thanks, appreciation, kindness and more.

12. Impartial and sincere

He doesn't pervert the right course, or deny people what is due them. He is impartial and sincere, straight forward and keeps to his word. 

These are some of the signs to know a man who functions by the wisdom from heaven. We all who are born again are born with this wisdom but unless we function by it through the Word of God these signs and the blessings thereof cannot be manifested in our lives.
Decide to walk in the wisdom of God. You are a man from heaven with the heavenly wisdom, it takes you only a decision and determination to walk in the wisdom of God. Hallelujah!
