HELP AGAINST THE ENEMY

Psalms 108:12-13 Give us aid against the enemy, for human help is worthless. With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies. (NIV)

The Psalmist prayed a great prayer here having recognized that man need God's help to be victorious over the enemy and to be successful in life. He prayed "Give us aid against the enemy, for human help is worthless." The help of a man is limited and it's for a very short time. 
And then he declared "With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies." The God who tramples down our enemies is not the God in heaven but the God in us and with us. That's the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is God's answer to David's prayer for an aid against the enemy. The Holy Spirit is our aid today against the enemy. If we would walk in our victory over satan and his works we must rely on the Holy Spirit and heed to His words. That's the secret to a victorious life.

In our own strength we cannot do anything. He is our help and power. The Lord Jesus said we would receive power after the Holy Spirit comes on us.
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

The power is not only to witness but also over the enemy; satan and his works. Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

The Holy Spirit is your help against the enemy. With Him you have power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power (abilities) of the enemy. 

You don't have to pray that God would send you help against the enemy. No! He has already done that. Take advantage of the Holy Spirit and His power, and the power vested in the mighty Name of the Lord Jesus to trample upon satan and his works, and walk in your victory in Christ perpetually. 

CONFESSION

I have received the Holy Spirit, He is my help and power against the enemy. Through the power of the Name of Jesus I trample upon satan and his works and all his abilities rendering them void and powerless and nothing shall by any means hurt me. Amen.
