HIS WORDS AND HIS STRENGTH
1 Peter 4:11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. (NIV)
God didn't intend for us to do what He called us to do in our own words and strength. He not only teaches us His Word but also puts it in our hearts.
Our opening verse instructs us to speak the very words of God and use the strength He provides so that God can be praised and glorified through Jesus Christ. The work God has entrusted to us can only be accomplished through His Words and strength. The Lord Jesus though being the Word of God yet spoke the words of God. And through those words the Father did the works through Him.
John 14:10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.
The same is true of us today. The words we speak are not our own; we do not speak on our own authority but the Father who lives in us does His work through us as we speak His Word.
Therefore the Bible says "If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen." -- 1 Peter 4:11
The strength and power of God manifests as we speak the very words of God, and it produces remarkable results.
When you have the opportunity to preach the Gospel or teach the Word of God don't preach or teach your experience or that of others, speak the very words of God. When you have the opportunity and privilege to serve don't try to do it in your own strength, serve with the strength that God provides.
PRAYER
Precious Father thank You for given me your strength and very words, I take advantage of them. I refuse to speak my words nor function with my strength but yours. And I declare that whenever I speak your very words they shall produce your very results, and your strength your very power, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
