BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 31st OCTOBER 2024 THE LAW IS NOT FOR THE RIGHTEOUS 1 Timothy 1:9 We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, (NIV) What we just read is interesting. It blows the mind to think that the law was not made for a righteous person. A righteous person doesn't need the law of Moses. The Bible just tells us who the law was made for.  The law was made for the sinner. We will read again and into the next verse. 1 Timothy 1:9-10 We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers —and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine The

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 30th OCTOBER 2024 COMFORT OF THE SCRIPTURE Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. (KJV) The Bible was written and preserved for us so we could read and learn not only from the spiritual aspect of it but also to learn from the characters in it. The Bible records lot of people whose real lives portrayed characters to learn from. We have Adam, Noah, Enoch, Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David and so on.  The life of Enoch teaches that one could walk with God in such a great fellowship and could be translated into heaven. He is the first person from whom we learnt that one could leave this world not by death. After him, Elijah, who went into heaven in a whirlwind.  We learned faith and patience from Abraham. In faith he obeyed God's voice to leave his hometown to a place that God would show him. He went without kn

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 29th OCTOBER 2024 CROSSED OVER FROM DEATH TO LIFE John 5:24 "Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. (NIV) The death Jesus referred here is spiritual death; that is, separation from God who is Himself life. He says anyone who hears His word and believe Him who sent Him has eternal life and won't be judged. The judgement for sin is death (spiritual death first, then physical).  Having believed in Jesus you will not be judged, there is no pending judgement of sin for you. Because Jesus Christ has been judged for you; He took your sin and died your death, and came back to life. And has given you that life; His life. Consequently death is in your past; it's not something that could happen again, you have been judged in Christ, you have passed from death to life. Your now-realm is life. And this is your right t

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 28th OCTOBER 2024 WHEN YOU PRAY Mark 11:23-24 "Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ’Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (NIV) When you pray a lot happens. You are inspired, you become confident and hopeful. When you pray you make power available. When you pray demons leave your environment. When you pray Angels attend to you and what concerns you.  When you pray your prayer is powerful and effective.  James 5:16 ...The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. What matters the most when you pray is not the power you make available, not the demons that leave nor the Angels who get to work, but your words and how you relate with them. How you relate with your words in prayer matters the mos

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 27th OCTOBER 2024 THE FULNESS OF THE BLESSING Romans 15:29 And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ. (KJV) The fulness of the blessing of the Gospel of Christ simply means everything you could find in God. It means everything good. Having received the Holy Spirit you have received the fulness of God. That's the fulness of the blessing of the Gospel; the Deity alive in ad through you. There are innumerable blessings in Christ and all of them are available to every Christian but it takes knowledge, understanding and consciousness to live in them. Apostle Paul said to the church "I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ." He knows what he was talking about, he understood it and was conscious of it. You can walk in the fulness of the blessing of Gospel of Christ. In the book of Ephesians, Paul told us that God has blessed us in

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 26th OCTOBER 2024 WORK BY FAITH, LABOR BY LOVE, ENDURANCE BY HOPE 1 Thessalonians 1:3 We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. (NIV) There are three things which last forever and are the greatest forces in this world and eternity; faith, hope and love. And the greatest of these is love. The Christian life is lived in the light of faith, hope and love. In the Kingdom of God work is by faith, labour is by love and endurance is by hope. Your work in the Kingdom if not by faith has no reward. Your work (manifestation) of power, deeds, purpose should be by faith, that is, acting out the truth of the Gospel of Christ. Otherwise it is fruitless and has no reward. Your labor in the Kingdom should be in love otherwise it has no reward. Don't just labour in the Kingdom, let your labor stem from your love for the Kingdom, l

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 25th OCTOBER 2024 FORGIVENESS IS A MUST Colossians 3:13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. (NIV) There are people who refuse to forgive when offended. They repeatedly talk about the harm done to them, and harbour grudges against the fellows. But according to the Bible forgiveness is a must. You must forgive those who offend or hurt you. It is compulsory. Our theme scripture says "forgive as the Lord forgave you." He forgave us unconditionally; He absorb us of our sins. We should do the same to others. True forgiveness is absorbing or blotting out the wrong done and its consequences. Hence, when we forgive we should also forget about the wrong done to us. If we say we forgive and yet hold the wrongs against the person we haven't forgiven. That's not how the Lord Jesus forgave us. When He forgave us He blotted out our sins out
