THE POWER OF LOVE chapter 1 episode 2

 Chapter 1 episode 2

HIS LOVE IS TANGIBLE

God's love is not just in words though He told us in words. He made His love tangible; seeable and touchable. His love came down in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ. He manifested His love in the person of His Son. So we could see and touch His love. It was not just words but words with proof. A proof that we can touch and relate with. His love is tangible. The Love that can't be seen and touched is no love at all. Love must be felt. We have the feeling of His love in our hearts; a tenderness of peace, rest, security and assurance.

1 John 4:9-10 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

God showed, displayed, made manifest, made known, evidence His love for us by doing something. He met our need for a saviour. Love meets need. He did something that showed His love for us. He sent His Son to die our death so we could live His life. He met our greatest need. There was no greater way to show His love for us. He did the utmost for us.

Through the death and resurrection of His Son we could see how much He love and value us. Love shows value. He showed He value us in proportion to the life of His son -- for that's what He gave for our salvation. We know He love us not just because of what He said but also because of what He did.

LOVE BENEFITS ITS OBJECT

God's love for us benefits us. Love benefits the recipient. We are the beneficiaries of His immeasurable and unconditional love; we are the objects of His Love.

The Bible says He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. That is our now reality; that is our benefit. We live through Him. We live through who and how He is. And God sees us and relate with us that way. He sees us in Christ; Holy, blameless and free from accusations. Hallelujah!

1 John 4:9-10 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Now we are freed from sin, guilt, condemnation and consequences of sin because Jesus was the atoning sacrifice for our sins. What a benefit! What a life His love brought us into!
