THE POWER OF LOVE chapter 6 episode 2
EPISODE 2
LOVE IS SUBSTANCE
The Bible expressively teaches us how to express Love. And God showed us example to follow by His deeds.
His love for us met our greatest need of salvation. Our love has to meet the needs of others too.
1 John 3:16-18 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
We couldn't have known that Jesus loved us if He didn't lay down His life for us. His love became real and tangible to us because He gave His life so we could live. We are implore to lay down our lives for others just like Him.
You see, the way to lay down our lives for others is by laying down our material possessions to meet their needs. If a brother or sister has a need that we are able to meet but refuse, how can we say we have the love of God in us? If we have it we would express it in laying down what we have to meet their need. Love meet needs.
This Love that we profess is substance. The love that is not expressed in substance is no love at all.
LOVE IN EXPRESSION IS FAITH
No man can say he has faith and not have love. True faith is expressed in love. Faith in expression is love. Love in expression is faith. When your faith; what you believe, accept and endorsed becomes your expression that is love. You can't live without faith. And you can't have faith without love. They are both of the Holy Spirit and are both inherent in our spirit as Christians.
James 2:14-16 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?
The deeds of faith is love expressed. When good deeds are expressed it is faith, and it is love. The good deeds you render to others is an act of love that proceeds from your faith.
LOVE IS TANGIBLE
James 2:15-16 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?
...But does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? When someone is in need that you are sufficient to meet, but refuse to and start talking, whatever you say wouldn't mean anything. If you only talk love and not make it tangible that love cannot help anybody.
If your words of love cannot meet their clothings and food for the time being, don't say it again. Words of love creates an atmosphere of expectation. Your love has to meet tangible expectations. Love is tangible. If love were only words then everyone would probably have genuine love. But love is much more than words.
Let your love be seen in their physical needs as much as you can. Love is in you as a child of God, express it. Love is care.
