THE WONDERS OF WISDOM chapter 4 episode 1
TURN YOUR EARS TO WISDOM
Everyone listens to a voice or voices. Voices comes to one's mind through three main sources. The flesh, satan and God.
The flesh would speak to you based on impulses, emotions and sight. Satan deceitfully speak to people through their flesh, desire and even perversely quoting the Bible. Then God speaks to us through His Word.
None of these voices forces you to listen to or obey it. The flesh cannot force you to listen and obey its voice, satan cannot, and God would not. Listening to any voice that comes to you is a choice. Many voices may come to your ears but you would choose which to turn your ears to you.
You would hear voice of fear, doubt, failing, uncertainty, faith, assurance, victory, riches but deliberately turn your ears to what you want to hear.
Instead of turning your ears to gossip turn it to wisdom. Instead of turning your ears to feelings, fears and anxiety turn it to wisdom.
Don't let negative voices dominate you. Don't dwell on wrong voices. You may not control the voices that comes to your ears but you can certainly choose which to turn your ears. You are not subject to negative voices. It might even come to you through people, even close friends but learn to turn your ears to wisdom.
If the voice you are hearing is the voice of wisdom you would know it, if not, you would know too. Once detected turn your ears away unto wisdom. It's not wise to be weighed down by anxiety.
Proverbs 2:1-2 My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding —
If you would accept God's Word and store it up within you you will easily hear the voice of wisdom, and once you hear it turn your ears to it. When you turn your ears to wisdom apply your heart to understand it.
Deficiency in God's Word results in inability to hear and understand the voice of wisdom. If you are not deficient in God's Word but deliberately choose not to listen to its wisdom then that is rebellion. God's Word says not to worry about anything, and if you understand this clearly yet give yourself up to worry that is foolishness. Foolishness is acting against wisdom. Turn your ears to wisdom away from the voice of foolishness.
WISDOM, KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Wisdom is a product of knowledge and understanding. When you talk and act based on knowledge and understanding, that is wisdom. So, simply put, wisdom is acting on the knowledge and understanding you received from God. How is knowledge and understanding received?
Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
What do you hear from God's mouth? God's voice! God's voice is God's Word. From His Word you receive knowledge and understanding. Acting on knowledge based on understanding is Wisdom. True wisdom is a propelling force. Wisdom propels you to talk and act as you should.
After you have been taught God's Word (knowledge) understanding comes to you through meditation on the Word, with that understanding you become wise in the area of the knowledge you have received. And people will only start seeing your wisdom when you begin living by it. Don't just get wisdom, live by it.
CRAVE FOR WISDOM
Proverbs 2:10 For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
You crave for wisdom when it enters your heart. Your heart becomes inclined to only reason, talk and act wisely. When people begin talking or acting in unwise manner you are irritated and uncomfortable. Because wisdom and knowledge has become pleasant to your soul. Anything done outside the light of wisdom becomes unpleasant to your soul. Your soul is irritated with foolish talk and ways.
Wisdom, knowledge and understanding are indeed pleasurable. A wise man enjoys not only his wisdom but also the proceeds thereof. Let wisdom enter your heart it will bring you pleasure and joy.
Beholding deeds accomplished through wisdom is satisfactory and pleasurable. Therefore deliberately apply wisdom in all that you do. Turn your ears away from anything else unto wisdom, listen to her and she will exalt you.
