TAKE A STEP TO GREATNESS Chapter 2 Episode 3

EPISODE 3

   5. Sin. Nothing hinders a Christian's success and fulfillment in life like all manners of sin and nothing hinders destiny like sexual immorality.

Sin removes the covering of God over your life and exposes you to the manipulation of the wicked one. The bible says in 1 John 3:7; He that sins is of the devil. If you live in sin you live under the umbrella of the devil. He easily covers you with his veil that you may not recognize or have interest in your talent, gift and life pursuit.

Sin makes you fall short of God’s glory, his splendor, blessing, light, power, victory and every good thing in Christ.

Sexual immorality is commonly responsible for the living but dead youths in our societies today.

Most of the youths of our generation have lost their values, virtues, glory, strength and life-purpose to sexual immorality. Sex supposed to be honorable and sacred, in fact it is the most sacred of creation because it’s an act God has made for couples, and in their marriage alone for physical fellowship and continuous reproduction of human race. Though most sacred, the devil has used it to be a snare to the unstable. Imagine people have sex in public toilet, bath-house, market, kiosk, kitchen, bush, street gutter. Sexual sin is committed everywhere and in almost any setting. The worst of it is that, they have abandoned the natural way of sex for the unnatural and they see it as normal without any sense of guilt. What a generation! May God have mercy on this generation!

For whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, to him it is sin. James 4:17

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23.

For all have sin and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23

Behold, the lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save or his ear dull, that it cannot hear, but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear Isaiah 59:1-2

Flee from sexual immorality: Every other sin a person commit is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. 1 Corinthian 6:18

For this is the will of God, your sanctification that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5

Stop hiding your life-purpose through sinful lifestyle. Repent and live a new life, your destiny is still alive. He that rose from the dead can give life to whatsoever seems dead in your life. For He said "I am the Resurrection and the life." Amen.

   6. Wrong Advice:

If you always listen to the crowd you will definitely miss your life purpose. In the eyes of men majority always win the votes, but in the eyes of God minority may win the votes.

That a lot people advise you to do certain thing does not make it a right advice.

Remember Elijah and Elisha, when God was about to take Elijah away in a whirlwind, Elisha kept following him, Elijah himself advised him to go back. The company of prophets also advised him to stop following his master - Elijah.

The sons of the Prophets who were at Jericho drew near to Elisha, and said to him; “Do you know that today the Lord will take away your master from you? And he answered; yes I know it, hold your peace. 2 Kings 2:5

The prophets were offering advice to him in order to help him but he refused to yield to their advice. Such advice would lead him off the way of God. In this case, no one supported Elisha yet he did not listen to majority rather he focused on his purpose. Now when the sons of the Prophets who were at Jericho saw that he refused their advice and went after Elijah and received the blessed anointing he desired from his master, they said "the spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha."

“And they came to meet him, and bowed to the ground before him. 2 Kings 2:15

Your enemies and those who aimed to discourage you with wrong advices will come and bow down before you only if you do not yield to those devilish advices.

Don’t always listen to people’s judgment or assessment of your life; you are the perfect watch of your life. You know where you are coming from and where you are heading to, so your judgment is the ultimate. People will always be there to discourage you in a friendly question as:
Do you really think you will make it this way?
Do you know that people have failed in this?
Do you know that the Lord will take your master away from you today?
 What if you don’t succeed?
Like the same deceptive question the serpent asked Eve; Did God really say you must not eat from the tree? Question that creates uncertainty in you, such that makes you have divided opinion, mind, ambition, focus and plan.
Nathaniel said to him, can anything good come out of Nazareth? Philip said to him come and see. John 1:46

Just echo that question in your heart again; “can anything good come out of Nazareth?”
Question that kills hope, gives frustration, makes you have a rethink or change of plan. Never accept such kind of questions or you may end up losing your divine assignment. Just answer them and say; “wait and see”.

Then his wife said to him “Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die. Job 2:9

What a demonic question and advice from Job’s wife, such a confusing question in difficult circumstances yet Job did not curse God. If job had yielded to that advice to curse God and die. He would certainly not have experienced the double blessings he had, and he couldn't have known God in a different dimension; 'the God who restores in double.'
On our part we wouldn't have had such a story of hope in the midst of trials. Maintain your God giving assignment like Job.

  7. Not Lucrative:

Most people easily ignore their God-giving assignment because they feel it’s not lucrative. That it will not meet their needs for life. Even when they are fully convinced that that’s what God wants for them.
That’s too dangerous my friend, because great punishment awaits anyone who refuses to invest his gift. Wasting God’s gifting and calling upon your life is like invitation to ruin.

But the man who had received the one talent went off dug a hole in the ground and hides his master money. Mathew 25:18.

The lazy servant hid his one talent because he thought it will not generate much.
Do not hide what God has deposited in you because you think it will not generate much money, influence, material or your desire.
