SEE GOD AS A JUDGE

Hosea 14:2 Take words with you and return to the LORD. Say to him: "Forgive all our sins and receive us graciously, that we may offer the fruit of our lips. (NIV)

Hosea the Prophet gave this prophetic words to the Israelites. He asked them to take words with them and return to the Lord, and it connotes presenting one's case before a judge. Taking words to argue your case. When we pray to God, there is the kind of prayer that we should see God as a judge. Then, we present our case with evidence from the scripture to argue our case why what we demand should be granted us.

The Lord Jesus told a parable to stress the importance of praying and to keep praying until we get what we demand. I would like us to read the entire parable.
Luke 18:1-7 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: "In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ’Grant me justice against my adversary.’ "For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ’Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’" And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?

How do you cry out to God? It is by presenting your case to Him with words of evidence from the scripture. You take words with you and talk to God arguing your case before Him as a judge. Demanding justice as it line up with truths of the Gospel of Christ.

According to the Gospel of Christ you are not supposed to be poor. 2 Corinthians 8:9 "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich." So you take these words with you and talk to the Lord. You are not presenting your case before Him because He is responsible for it. No! But because as the Judge He has the final say; He gives verdict.

PRAYER

Father you are the Just Judge, and you are the Lord of all. I demand to enjoy all the blessings, rights and privileges that Jesus' death and resurrection has consummated for me, and I ask that you rebuke my adversary who is trying to stop me from enjoying these, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
