LIGHT IN HIS ORDER

John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." (NIV)

While Jesus walked the earth He said He was the light of the world. And also declared that we are the light of the world. We are light as He is; we are light in His order. We are His kind of light; the extension of His light. If anyone wanted the light of Jesus today they comes to us; the Christian. 

In this physical world there are different kinds of light, some shines brighter than others. When God created the heavens and the earth He made two great lights; one greater than the other. Genesis 1:16 God made two great lights —the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.

In this world we are the greatest light. We are Jesus kind of light and He has ordained us to shine, govern and rule over this world. We can shine in His intensity as He lives through us blessing lives, giving direction and guidance to many.

He spoke emphatically and expressively in Matthew 5:14-16, He said "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

By saying "let your light shine before others" implies that we are responsible to how great or less our lights shines; we alone could be the hindrance to or determinant of our lights. We are to put our light on where it would give light to everyone; in other words we should intentionally avail ourselves to be a blessing to others through preaching and living out the Gospel for all to see and give glory to God. 

You are a light in the order of Jesus; you are His kind of light. You are the light of the world. Whoever follows you should never walk in darkness, but have the light of life. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION

I am light in the Lord, I am His kind of light, shining brightly in His order. I am the light of this world, I am a city built upon a hill that cannot be hidden. I shine brightly in ever increasing intensity giving illumination, direction and guidance to many; bringing glory nd praise to my Father. Amen.

(NIV) The Apostle Paul writing to the Church in Philippi, said they should rejoice in the Lord always. He didn't say they should rejoice in themselves but in the Lord. Chapter 2 Episode 2 LOVE FULFILS THE LAW Romans 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
