GOD LIVES IN ABOVE

Isaiah 66:1 This is what the LORD says: "Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be? (NIV)

This above verse is very clear to understand. God says heaven is His throne and the earth His footstool. That gives a clear idea of where God is. God is not inside heaven with a structure above His head. No! The heaven is His throne (seat), the earth His footstool (beneath His feet). He lives above the heavens. 

Of course there are beings in heavens; the first, second and third heavens are inhabited by spirit beings. There are angels in the third heaven, and angels in His presence above. But God is not inside any of the heavens.

Another verse throws light on it.
Psalms 113:5-6 Who is like the LORD our God, the One who sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth?

If this verse had stopped at 'Who is like the LORD our God, the One who sits enthroned on high', then you might have thought the "on high" it refers to is heaven. But it went on to say "who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth."

God lives far above the heavens. He lives on high in above from there He stoops down to look on the heavens and earth because they are both beneath Him. Think about this revelation of God! Your understanding of this truth would amplify your worship of God.

Think about this; in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Before He created them where was He living? He was living far above. He lives in far above all. 

Referring to Jesus the Bible would at times say He is from heaven. But that's a geographical pointing. Jesus Himself said that He is from above. That above is not heaven, it is far above the heavens.
John 8:23 But he continued, "You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.

Now just like Jesus we are from above; above the heavens where God is. We are not of this world. Our origin, Kingdom, authority, dominion and power is far above all; the heavens, the earth, beneath the earth and whatever exist there. Praise God!

PRAYER
Lord God I praise you for you are far above. You dwell on high in unapproachable light. You dwell in glory and loftiness. I am in awe of You Lord. The heaven is your throne and the earth your footstool. I worship you Lord God. Amen.
