TAKE ADVANTAGE OF GRACE
1 Corinthians 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them —yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. (NIV)
In our previous article we said that "Grace is the working of the divine essence through a Christian, and that one can grow in it." Another important aspect is to take advantage of grace. It's one thing for grace to be available is another to take advantage of it. Every Christian has grace but not every Christian use grace.
For example the Apostle Paul talked about the Israelites whom though God's righteousness was freely available and accessible chose to establish their righteousness. Romans 10:1,3 Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.
Why establish your own? Why do it any other way when grace is freely available and accessible? Take advantage of grace. Grace makes things easier.
Galatians 2:21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!"
Some people set grace aside. They know fully well they could do things God's way but for some reasons wouldn't. They set aside grace and use all the effort and knowledge they got and produce no lasting results.
Apostle Paul said to the church in Corinth not to receive God's grace in vain.
2 Corinthians 6:1 As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain.
That means they should do something with God's grace. In other words they should take advantage of grace. Apostle himself did, and you too should.
He said in 1 Corinthians 15:10 "But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them —yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me."
Stop putting too much fleshly efforts and wisdom, use Grace. Confess and talk grace; acknowledge that grace works in you mightily, and walk in grace.
CONFESSION
I do not set aside the grace of God, nor do I receive it in vain, for by grace I am what I am. And His grace is not without effect in my life but productive. I work harder with grace yet not I but His grace that's at work so mightily and graciously in me. Amen.
