BE RICH TOWARDS GOD

Luke 12:16 And he told them this parable: "The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. (NIV)

The Lord Jesus told a parable of a certain rich man whose land yielded an abundant harvest. Instead of recognizing and appreciating God as the One responsible for his abundance he chose rather to go on self-indulgence. That was the problem. The problem wasn't his riches or abundant harvest. It was God who gave him riches and made the ground to produce abundance.

Luke 12:18-19 "Then he said, ’This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I’ll say to myself, "You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry."’
There was no God in his plan. No plan to thank Him or give Him anything. All his plan was about himself; how he would eat, drink, merry and enjoy life. 

In Luke 12:20-21 "But God said to him, ’You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ "This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God."

Be rich towards God. God have no problem with you being rich or having abundance but that you learn to honour Him with your riches and abundance by giving towards the work of His Kingdom. Your riches means nothing and it is no riches if you are not rich in giving towards God's Kingdom. 

God is not saying that you shouldn't eat or enjoy the fruit of your labour but that you set things in the right priority and perspective. Don't live for what you have, use what you have to live for God. That's just it. It's just about that. 

Reset your priority and perspective. Decide to use what He's given you to live for Him and He will bless you with much more.

PRAYER

Father thank You for all that you have given me. I refuse to run away with them but willingly give them all back to you. I refuse self-indulgence but Kingdom oriented, I give generously towards the expansion of the Kingdom in the earth, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
