A LAWYER WITH THE FATHER

1 John 2:1-2 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father —Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. (NIV)

Jesus did not only die to free us from our sins but He is today also our advocate (lawyer) with the Father against sin. It's important to note that Jesus is not our advocate to the Father or against the Father but with the Father.
To be our advocate to the Father means He speaks to the Father for us, defending us against the Father's judgment, but that's not the case. And He is neither our advocate against the Father. He is not arguing with the Father and giving Him reasons to not punish us for our sins. The Bible says He is our advocate with the Father, that is a huge difference.

Jesus is our advocate (lawyer) with the Father. It means He is our lawyer speaking in agreement with the Father on our case. And infact He is also the Father's lawyer in our case. He speaks in agreement with the Father. The Bible says He is at the Father's right hand, that means He is the Father's right hand man -- His confidant. And He intercedes for us. 
Romans 8:34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died —more than that, who was raised to life —is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

Jesus doesn't condemn us, neither does the Father. Both are on the same page concerning us, they speak in our favour. Jesus is the most outspoken in our case because He is the One who died for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. He doesn't just make case for our justification He also has evidence of His resurrection to present. With His evidences of His death and resurrection for us we truly have a capable and reliable Lawyer with the Father. 

If you did something wrong don't whip yourself, remember you have an advocate with the Father. The Bible says "if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father."

PRAYER

Thank You Dear Lord Jesus for you do not condemn me but speaks in my favour. Thank You Lord Jesus for being my Lawyer with the Father, speaking in agreement with the Father, declaring righteousness, victory and justification in my favour. I live bold and confident knowing that if I did anything wrong you advocate for me. Amen Hallelujah!
