BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 31st JANUARY 2025 DEVOTE YOURSELF TO PRAYER Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. (NIV) No one prays indeliberately. Apostle Paul says to the Christians in Colosae "devote yourselves to prayer." And the Spirit of God says the same to us today, "devote yourselves to prayer." Prayer is a deliberate act. But don't pray as a duty but as a delight. Don't deliberately pray because you feel is a duty your must fulfill but pray because it is a delight you should enjoy. Give yourself to prayer, be watchful and thankful. One of things that makes you find pleasure in praying is thankfulness. When you are full of thanks for all the Lord has done for you your heart will throb with joy not only about what you are thankful for but with faith for what you are hoping for. When you find pleasure to pray it takes away the pressure to pray. For some prayer is pressure (burden). Don't b...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 30th JANUARY 2025 RENEWED IN KNOWLEDGE Colossians 3:9-10 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. (NIV) This above scripture clearly states that the Christian has taken off his old self with its practices and have put on the new self. This new self is in the image of its Creator but has to be renewed in knowledge to function accordingly. Even though everyone who is born again is exactly like God his Father everyone doesn't live in that reality. Even though your spirit is a brand new one because you are born again your mind is the same. Your mind has to be renewed in the knowledge of who you are by your spirit. Your mind doesn't know that you are born again or a child of God unless you inform its through the Word.  Only a Christian who has a renewed mind can fulfill God's calling upon ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 26th JANUARY 2025 GOD'S HOLY PEOPLE Ephesians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To God’s holy people in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus: (NIV) Apostle Paul writing a letter to the Church at Ephesus addressed them as God's holy people. He called them holy people. In our day we find those who say that no one is holy but God. Yes there is only one holiness. Holiness is not good behavior, good character, truthfulness, faithfulness or sinlessness. God is the only holy One, and He lives in us making us holy as He is holy. Where the Holy God is, is holy. Whatever He takes (person or thing) to become His own is set apart, consecrated unto Him as holy. The utensils used in the tabernacle in the old testament were pronounced holy. People define holiness very differently from what the Bible teaches. The Church is holy and full of holy people. Everyone who is born again is set apart, consecrated unto God in...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 25th JANUARY 2025 ALL THINGS FROM HIM AND FOR HIM 1 Corinthians 8:6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live. (NIV) At times we live as though we created anything. There are people who even live as though they created themselves. All through the Scriptures we see that no one contributed anything to creation or existence. Every thing that exist had been. We all found everything already in place. Though we have succeeded in creating things from the things already created by God, yet the ultimate glory has to go to God. Satan didn't create a thing, he himself is a creature. God created him as one of the angels but then he rebelled against God, and was thrown out of his place. Our theme scripture states it beautifully, 1 Corinthians 8:6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from w...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 24th JANUARY 2025 LEARN TO TRADE WORDS Matthew 15:22,24 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly." He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel." (NIV) Most of the time what you qualify for may not be given you unless you demand for it. And other times what you are not qualified for can be given you when you trade your words rightly. That was the case of the Canaanite woman who came to Jesus. She begged Jesus to heal her demon-possessed daughter. But Jesus said He was not sent to the Canaanites. In other words that she wasn't qualified for what she asked for. Let's read her dialogue with Jesus. She traded words with Jesus, and she traded rightly. Matthew 15:25-27 The woman came and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said. He replied, "It is not right to take th...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 23rd JANUARY 2025 THROUGH WHOM WE LIVE 1 Corinthians 8:6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live. (NIV) The term "through whom we live" is not a medium. It doesn't mean that Jesus is the medium through whom we live. He is not a medium. It means by whom we live. We live by who He is, how He is, where He is, what He can and what He has. We live in His Person or in His instead. That's what it means. It's incredible that we live in the Person of the Lord Jesus; we live in His stead and in His place by living in His Name. John 20:31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. Now you have life in His Name. You are living His life in His stead. You are living for Him. The life ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 22nd JANUARY 2025 THE CITY OF GOD Hebrews 12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, (NIV) In the Bible Zion refers to the city or people of God. In the days of Moses the people of God often gathered before the Lord at the foot of a mountain. The gathering of God's people in the new testament is mount Zion whether or not there is a mountain. Referring to the new testament believers the Bible says "you have come to Mount Zion, the City of the living God." The mountain referred in our theme scripture is the church, and the same is the city of the living God. The church on earth is a branch of the heavenly city of the living God. And someday soon we shall go up to that city in heaven. And beautifully at the renewal of all things that city shall be brought down to the new earth and we shall inhabit it...
