BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 22nd JANUARY 2025 THE CITY OF GOD Hebrews 12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, (NIV) In the Bible Zion refers to the city or people of God. In the days of Moses the people of God often gathered before the Lord at the foot of a mountain. The gathering of God's people in the new testament is mount Zion whether or not there is a mountain. Referring to the new testament believers the Bible says "you have come to Mount Zion, the City of the living God." The mountain referred in our theme scripture is the church, and the same is the city of the living God. The church on earth is a branch of the heavenly city of the living God. And someday soon we shall go up to that city in heaven. And beautifully at the renewal of all things that city shall be brought down to the new earth and we shall inhabit it...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 21st JANUARY 2025 AN ETERNAL DOMICILE Acts 17:28 ’For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ’We are his offspring.’ (NIV) The Word declares that in God we live and move and have our being. If anyone was in doubt whether it actually referred to God then the later part of that verse put any doubt to rest. It says "We are his offspring." Indeed we are God's offspring; He gave birth to us. In Him we live, move and have our being (our existence and sustainability). That's a domicile. A domicile is a permanent dwelling. God is our permanent and eternal dwelling. You may wonder how that is. It is by your spirit. Your spirit lives in God, and when you are consistently conscious of this, it affects your physical body and environment, such that your physical body literally lives in God and your physical environment carries God's atmosphere. This is true. Everyone who is born a...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 20th JANUARY 2025 AN IRREVERSIBLE VICTORY Acts 2:24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. (NIV) The victory the Lord Jesus earned and gave us is based on His resurrection. It was His victorious resurrection from the dead that sealed our victory. If He had not risen there would be no victory. And because death was powerless (not possible for it) to keep Him in the realm of the dead He is forever victorious over death, and so are we! It is an irreversible victory. Let us read Romans 6:9-11 "For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus." In the same way we are dead to sin once for all time, we cannot...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 19th JANUARY 2025 WORK THE WORD John 8:31-32 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (NIV) The truth sets free those who know it not those who heard it. There is a huge difference. Someone may hear something but do not know or understand it. The truth produce results for those who know what it is. You have to know what truth is for it to work for you.  The Word of God is the truth of God. The truth of God is the reality or state of things before God. When the Word comes to you, it tells you the reality of what it communicates to you. And if that reality is not your experience you have the responsibility to work the word to become your experience.  The Word declares that we are blessed with every spiritual blessing (every good thing you can think of). Ephesians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 18th JANUARY 2025 HE LIFTS YOU EVEN IN THEIR MIDST Psalms 3:2-3 Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him." But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. (NIV) We see in the Scriptures how God lifted people to glory even in the midst of their adversaries. Joseph and Daniel are two perfect examples.  Joseph was sold into slavery in Egypt by his brothers, and God lifted him to become the Prime Minister of Egypt. Read Genesis chapter 37 and 41. Daniel's colleagues in the service of the king conspired against him and have him thrown into the den of lions. But God delivered him and lifted him to a higher place. (See Daniel 6) And the Bible says "So Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian." -- Daniel 6:28. God specialized in lifting people to a higher level even in the midst of their enemies. It doesn't matter who is against you, ...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 17th JANUARY 2025 ACKNOWLEDGE THE TROUBLE, ACKNOWLEDGE THE SOLUTION Psalms 34:19 The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all; (NIV) The Bible never said we will not have troubles as the righteousness of God. No! Some Christians behave as though it's strange when trouble comes to them. Reading our opening verse alone says otherwise. Some of the things some Christians believe, confess and live by are not scriptural. Trouble for a Christian is scriptural, victory and solution over that trouble is also scriptural; they are both in the Word of God. Denying the existence of a problem is not faith. Denying the facts of challenges is not scriptural. To say the righteous person or a Christian will not have trouble is not true. Facing your facts with God's truths is the solution. Acknowledge the problem, then acknowledge the solution in the Word. There is solution for every problem but until y...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 16th JANUARY 2025 WE ARE NOW 1 John 3:2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. (NIV) The Bible declares that now we are children of God. We are now! We are children of the Most High God. What exactly does it mean to be a son of God? Son of God means three things. First, God in a human body or flesh. God lived in the fleshly body of Jesus.  John 14:10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.  And God lives in anyone who acknowledge that Jesus is the Son of God.  1 John 4:15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. You are son of God, God lives in your physical body.  The secon...
