THE POWER OF LOVE chapter 2 episode 2
Chapter 2 Episode 2
LOVE FULFILS THE LAW
Romans 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments, "You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder," "You shall not steal," "You shall not covet," and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
First the word states that 'you owe everyone love' this means you should not find anyone you cannot or should not love. That's because it is your nature, it got nothing to do with the one you are loving. It is the expression of yourself not how they look or behave towards you. You owe everyone in your world a debt of love. You cannot not love, it is your nature, just like you cannot not live.
Again it says clearly that love is the fulfillment of the law. All the commandments were meant to create an atmosphere of love but it failed because the people that were commanded to carry it out did not have the nature of love. Consequently couldn't give what they did not have.
Love fulfills the law. He who loves others wouldn't steal, murder or covet. Love is the fulfillment of the law. He that loves doesn't need the law because he expresses the nature of God - love.
THE OLD AND NEW LAW
1 John 2:7-8 Dear friends, I am not writing you a new command but an old one, which you have had since the beginning. This old command is the message you have heard. Yet I am writing you a new command; its truth is seen in him and in you, because the darkness is passing and the true light is already shining.
He called the new command an one. The new law he says is the old one you have had since the beginning. The command (law) God ever gave to man was one thing - love. It was meant to foster an atmosphere of love.
When He commanded Adam not to eat the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden it was an opportunity for Adam to express his love for God through obedience resulting in an atmosphere of love.
The commandments He gave the Israelites through Moses was to express love. The command had always been love. Love is the law.
The big difference today is that He put the nature (Love) in us to express. He did not just tell us to love one another, but made us love to be expressed. So we are love in expression. Glory to God!
LOVE IS THE COMMAND
John 13:34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
This new command is love. We are required to express love, to love one another because it is our nature. We are required to be who we are. It is a command to be who He made us (a people of love).
We don't struggle to love because His Spirit is in us. We are a being of love. We were born that way, to manifest His love; to make it tangible. We are love in person; love personified. Anyone who sees us should know how love looks. Hallelujah!
