DON'T WITHHOLD GOOD

Proverbs 3:27-28 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. Do not say to your neighbor, "Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you" — when you already have it with you. (NIV)

Doing good is an opportunity and a privilege. When you truly understand this you won't withhold doing good when it is in your ability to. Galatians 6:10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

It's your privilege and opportunity to do good. Don't become arrogant and full of pride when you are in the place to help. It could be you needing that help but you are in a position to be of help. 

Let us observe verse 27 of our theme scripture again, Proverbs 3:27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.
Notice it says to whom it is due, not to whom that deserves it. People don't have to deserve or earn your good. Anyone who is in need of that good, good is due to him. It has nothing to do with him deserving it, it is due him. He is due for help and you are opportuned to be the channel, don't withhold help from him. 

This brings to mind a man who had been incapacitated for thirty-eight long years. When Jesus found him He ministered good to him. He didn't had to earn it. He was due for help and healing. John 5:5,8 One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. Then Jesus said to him, "Get up! Pick up your mat and walk."

Read verse 28 again, Proverbs 3:28 Do not say to your neighbor, "Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you" — when you already have it with you.

NOW is always the best time to do good. Tomorrow might be late for the person. The help or good you will render to him today could save his destiny and even that of many others. Never say to anyone "Come back tomorrow and I’ll help you" — when you can help today. Never say it!

PRAYER

Dear Father I open my heart and my hand to give, to do good and be of help to people. I refuse to ever withhold good when I can help. I avail myself to be a help and blessing to others, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
