THE WONDERS OF WISDOM chapter 11 episode 1

WISDOM IS NOT LAZY

We have established that wisdom is action. Wisdom is not mere words but deeds. Wisdom is a producer; it produces results. Speaking just words and being idle is not wisdom; wisdom acts. Wisdom is not lazy.

Wisdom shows you the right path and inspires you to walk in it. Wisdom is not "I know" then you are waiting for something to happen. Wisdom doesn't wait, it causes things to happen. Wisdom is a propelling and prevailing force. It causes you do.

THREE WAYS OF ACTIVE WISDOM

Wisdom sows, wisdom harvests and wisdom saves. We learnt this even from the ant.
Proverbs 6:6-8 Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.

If the ant gathers food at harvest and stores up provisions in summer it simply means it sowed. You can't harvest unless you have sown. We find three ways of wisdom in this illustration of the ant. They are;
1. Sowing
A wise person is not a lazy person. A person wise doesn't only speak wise words but act wisely. A wise person is truly known for his wise actions than his wise words.
It is not enough to talk about how you would make your life beautiful, take action and make it beautiful. Sow the kind of life you want to live. Beautiful, prosperous and successful life is a harvest from the actions of wisdom that one has taken. Prosperous and successful life is not a gift but a proceed of wisdom; active wisdom.

Start sowing in your life and also sowing with your life. What kind of life do you want? What kind of marriage, business, family, career, ministry do you want? Sow it through wisdom (acting on and doing God's word consistently).

2. Harvesting
We already said that wisdom is not lazy. After you have sown there will be a time of harvest. Harvest only come after sowing. No sowing no harvesting. When what you have sown has grown and brought forth you shouldn't go around talking but get your harvesting tools and do the job of harvesting.

For instance, you went to school and have gotten a profession, you prayed for a job and got one. The job is a harvest of your years of labour in school and labour in prayer. Are you going to take your harvest (the job) lightly? No! Take it seriously.

You prayed for a good wife or husband. Now that you got him or her. He or she is the harvest of your prayers and waiting. What do you do with your harvest? Treat him or her rightly.
You may have invested in business or a company or anything else, give attention to the harvest and take care of it. Wisdom is not lazy. Don't get lazy about your harvest; your job, marriage, ministry, career and investment of any kind. Gather in your harvest. It's very important.

From your harvest you have seeds to sown for the next season. A continuous harvest is a result of a continuous sowing. Gather in your harvest and sow again. Wisdom is never lazy to sow again. Don't say I have enough. Do you have enough for your world? Your world increases everyday, you can't have enough for your world. Don't be complacent; wisdom is not complacent.

3. Saving

After harvesting saving is compulsory but sadly many do not save. You don't eat all you get. Don't eat all your harvest. And interestingly don't sow all your harvest either. Even though you must sow it must not be your savings. Some people do not have savings, don't be one of them.

You find people who have worked for five years or even ten years and do not have savings. They ate and spent all they got.
Some who are on monthly pay even spend part of the up coming month. That's not wisdom. Wisdom teaches to save. If you are on a monthly pay live within your pay and also save from it.

If you are a business person. Apply wisdom to your business. Don't eat all your profit, yet some people eat even their capital. From your profit save. Saving is essential; anyone who earns should save no matter how little it is.

Another way to save is to give. Giving is saving. This might sound awkward. But it is a spiritual principle that works.
Two primary ways or avenues to give is; 1. To the needy (poor) and, 2. To the work of the Kingdom of God. When you give to the needy you lend to God and He repays you. When you give for the work of the Kingdom it is a secure investment that brings you high returns. Both giving to the needy and the Kingdom are investment and savings because they eventually comes back to you.

Seize the opportunity to give to the needy. Seize the opportunity to give for the work of the Kingdom of God. It is one sure way to save for the future.
Proverbs 19:17 Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.
Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
