ENERGY IN HIS WORDS

Matthew 9:6-7 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins." So he said to the paralyzed man, "Get up, take your mat and go home." Then the man got up and went home. (NIV)

Jesus not only had authority to forgive sins when He walked the earth but also to heal and set free. He said to a paralyzed man "Get up, take your mat and go home." The man who had not walked for years go up, took his mat and walked home. There was energy in the words of Jesus that made the man's body to be strong. It was His words that energized his weak bones and muscles.

On another occasion Jesus did something similar with a man who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. He said to him "Get up! Pick up your mat and walk."
John 5:5-9 One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, "Do you want to get well?" "Sir," the invalid replied, "I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me." Then Jesus said to him, "Get up! Pick up your mat and walk." At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath,

The man walked not just because he believed or was just trying out, no! He felt his body was energized; he knew he could do it. There was energy in the words of the Lord Jesus. But the same authority has been given to us. Let's read.
Matthew 9:8 When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man.

God has given such authority to man not to Jesus. Jesus lived in the place of a man like a man. All that Jesus did and said was to show man how to live as a man; what to say and do. All that Jesus did and said is what any man functioning as God made him to could do or say. God has given such authority to man, that a man's word should carry divine energy and potency; the inherent ability to produce what he says.

Prophet Joel forsaw that man would prophesy after God has poured out His Spirit on him. To prophesy here means to speak words of power.
Joel 2:28 "And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.

Having received the Spirit of God we can prophesy; we can speak words of power with divine energy and potency; an inherent ability to bring to pass what is spoken. Be conscious of this when you speak. Your words like Jesus words carries divine energy to produce what you say. Don't say what you don't want because it will be produced. Speak only what you want. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION

Thank Lord God for given me your Spirit who inspires in me the words to speak, and who also energizes my words causing them to produce exactly what I say. I declare today that I am making progress and advancing the course of the Gospel, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
