REFUSE TO FAINT
Scripture — Proverbs 24:10
"If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small."(KJV)
The day of adversity is not an accident, and it is not a sign that God has left you. Scripture calls it "the evil day" — the day when your faith is tested. Some believers dread these seasons and pray never to pass through them, but to avoid every situation that challenges your faith is to checkmate your own promotion. God tells you to count it joy when trials come, because He knows that victory is already in your spirit.
Fainting, then, is not caused by the size of the problem but by the measure of strength you are drawing on. Many give up too soon in the middle of their God-given assignment and conclude that the difficulty must mean the dream was never from God. But a command from God never promised the absence of adversaries. Moses did not know the Egyptian army would follow — and yet the sea was already scheduled to open.
So the Christian life is not the absence of attacks; it is the futility of them. Put on the whole armour of God — not some of it — that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. In the wrestling, both men may fall; the one who gets up first wins. Though the outward man wastes, the inward man is renewed day by day, so refuse to faint. Your adversity is not your downfall; it is your promotion.
Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, I refuse to faint in the day of adversity. I take on the whole armour of God, that I may withstand in the evil day and, having done all, remain standing. Holy Spirit, strengthen me with might on the inner man, that my faith may remain unwavering and resilient. I will not interpret difficulty as abandonment; I will stand on Your Word until my victory appears. To Your name be glory, now and forever. In Jesus' mighty name, amen.
