EAGER TO DO WHAT IS GOOD

Titus 2:14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. (NIV)

One of the characteristics of a wicked person or wickedness is being eager to do what is evil. Those are not born again whose hearts are seared are eager to carry out evil schemes. But the Lord Jesus has redeemed the Christian from all wickedness and has purified him for Himself making him eager to do what is good.

Before you got born again you must have found it difficult to do what is good, most especially doing good to people who hated you and treated you badly. But since you got born again and received the Holy Spirit you find out that you willing and eager to do what is good, not only to those who are good to you but also to them that hates you. Being eager to do what is good is the outworking of the life of God in you; never resist to do good. 

There are Christians who resist the eagerness to do what is good. An opportunity came up to do good but he finds a restraining force with a voice that keeps telling him "don't do it." But it is good to be good. That restraining voice from doing good is not of God. Whenever you find such a voice speaking to you, rebuke it and act according to the Word. Be eager to do good always not only when you think it involves people who can repay you for the good you have done for them.

One of the marks that we are Jesus very own people is the eagerness to do good, not just doing good but being eager about it. Doing good grudgingly is not good, and may not yield any result. It is being eager (joyful) to do good and doing it that brings result. Titus 2:14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. 

CONFESSION

Precious Lord you have redeemed me from all wickedness and has purified, trained and enabled me to be eager and to do what is good. I commit myself to being eager, joyful and excited about doing good, in Jesus' Name. Amen!

THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM Wisdom will begin to work in and through you and produce results when you fear the Lord. Yes wisdom begin with the fear of the Lord. (NIV) The Apostle Paul writing to the Church in Philippi, said they should rejoice in the Lord always. He didn't say they should rejoice in themselves but in the Lord. That calls for spiritual insight.  It takes spiritual insight to see what we got in the Lord and rejoice. When you are ask to rejoice over something it means that it holds significance and value. WISDOM DO GOOD We already know that wisdom is known for its deeds. Wisdom is no wisdom if it is not practiced. True wisdom is practicable.  One of the marks of wisdom is good deeds. A wise man does good. It takes loyalty to wisdom (God's Word) to do good. God's Word teaches us to do good. TURN YOUR EARS TO WISDOM Everyone listens to a voice or voices. Voices comes to one's mind through three main sources. The flesh, satan and God.  The flesh would speak to you based on impulses, emotions and sight. Satan deceitfully speak to people through their flesh, desire and even perversely quoting the Bible. Then God speaks to us through His Word.  None of these voices forces you to listen to or obey it. The flesh cannot force you to listen and obey its voice, satan cannot, and God would not. Listening to any voice that comes to you is a choice.
