MOVE ON FROM THERE
Genesis 26:22 He moved on from there and dug another well, and no one quarreled over it. He named it Rehoboth, saying, "Now the LORD has given us room and we will flourish in the land." (NIV)
In life you have to learn to always move on. You have to learn how to move on from disappointment, failings, defeat, unfavorable circumstances and opposition. You will have to move on and move away from some oppositions and enemies. Not every time you give time to an enemy, not every fight you should fight. At times you move on and move away from the fight.
Isaac had oppositions regarding the wells his servants dug. His opposers quarreled with him about the wells. He could have fought them to retain the wells, after all it was his but he chose rather to move on from there.
Genesis 26:19-21 Isaac’s servants dug in the valley and discovered a well of fresh water there. But the herders of Gerar quarreled with those of Isaac and said, "The water is ours!" So he named the well Esek, because they disputed with him. Then they dug another well, but they quarreled over that one also; so he named it Sitnah.
What we need is to be sensitive in the spirit because what might be right to do in the physical might be a blunder in the spirit. Isaac would have been right to fight back to retain those wells, but he knew there was a better place ahead. Isaac's opposers pushed until he got to a better place, a large place to flourish. At times we waste our precious time and energy fighting unnecessary fights when we could have moved on to do better things and be better. Learn to move on from frivolities and mundanity. Not everything counts.
The Bible tells us that Isaac moved on from there. Genesis 26:22 He moved on from there and dug another well, and no one quarreled over it. He named it Rehoboth, saying, "Now the LORD has given us room and we will flourish in the land."
When opposed by men, before fighting back listen to the Spirit, and examine your motive for the fight. As times our motives are wrong. We keep fighting for the job because we want to prove a point to men, we are in a business even when it is no longer working because we want to prove a point to men. It's not necessary. Move on from there. There is a large room ahead of you where you will flourish in the land. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Lord God my Father I refuse to waste my time and energy to fight those fighting me, I know you live in me and you are greater than he that is in the world and those against me. I leave them to you while I move on to do greater things for our Kingdom as you lead me into the large room you have prepared for me to flourish, in Jesus' Name. Amen!
