BREAKFAST WITH JESUS

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 22nd DECEMBER 2024 HE KNOWS HOW TO RESCUE 2 Peter 2:9 if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment. (NIV) God has delivered us from sin by Christ's sacrifice of Himself for our sins. Today, we may face many trials, temptations and hardship. But God never leaves us alone. He rescues us from trials, and the Bible says He knows how to.  Lot is an example that God rescues the righteous from troubles. Lot lived among wicked and lawless people but the Lord rescued him while He destroyed the wicked for their wickedness. 2 Peter 2:7,9 and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless... if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment. Lot's trials and distress came as a result of the depraved and lawless ac...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 21st DECEMBER 2024 MIND YOUR WORDS 1 Peter 3:10 For, "Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. (NIV) This scripture implies that those who hate life and see bad days do not keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. The circumstances of their lives resulted from their words. There are people who hate to live; they are discouraged and fed up with life and its unending problems. They always see bad days. They have seen bad days in their marriage, business, family, job, work etc. They are accustomed to seeing bad days.  The Bible says in 1 Peter 3:10, "For, "Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech." You love life when you are winning. It doesn't mean you won't face trouble or opposition but that you always win over them, not because of anythin...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 20th DECEMBER 2024 BE SYMPATHETIC 1 Peter 3:8 Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. (NIV) We find people in this world who are unsympathetic, callous and hardhearted. A Christian shouldn't be like that.  The Word of God instructs us to be sympathetic, love one another, compassionate and humble.  Have a soft heart for others and what they go through. It is a mark of Christ in you. The Lord Jesus was full of compassion, sympathy and kindness. And everyone of us should imitate Him. Never turn your heart away from the sufferings of others, don't develop a cold and hard heart towards people who are facing one predicament or the other. Find a way to help. There is something you could do, even if it seems little.  Love is the Christian way of life. We can't say we love people when we do not feel sympathy for what they go through. Another aspect of this, is that wh...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 19th DECEMBER 2024 THE UNFADING BEAUTY 1 Peter 3:4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. (NIV) Inner beauty of the heart is very important. Imagine you visited your friend and looking at his house from the outside it look so beautiful that anyone would wish to have such a house. But when you got inside you find everywhere and everything messy; unkept and bad odoured. You would be in a hurry to leave. Sadly, most people's lives are like that.  From the outside they look beautiful and attractive but their inner self is messy, unkept and bad odoured. The Bible talks about those whose beauty is only from the outside. They are well outwardly adorned. 1 Peter 3:3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes.  Fine clothes, gold jewelry, elaborate ha...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 18th DECEMBER 2024 WON OVER BY BEHAVIOR 1 Peter 3:1-2 Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. (NIV) Wives are advised in this verse of the Scriptures to win their unbelieving husbands over by their good behavior. And it is instructive to every believer. Portraying a Christian behavior is important to winning the unbelievers to Christ. There are people that no matter what you preach they will not give their lives to Christ unless your good character compel them to. Unbelievers do not read Bible they read believers. And interestingly they are able to tell one who has a good behavior.  Preaching the Gospel to the unsaved is very important, and living what you preach is as important. Most often, unbelievers are moved by what they see than what...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 17th DECEMBER 2024 LIVE AS FREE PEOPLE 1 Peter 2:16 Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves. (NIV) God wants us to live as free people, but free from what? Free from the control of sin and its consciousness. Free from satan's influence, oppression, dominion and deception. And God has done this already. He has delivered us from sin and satan and their likes. Acts 13:39 Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses. Colossians 1:13 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love; Now that you are completely free. God says "Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves." - 1 Peter 2:16 Many people use their freedom for evil. They know the right thing to do but wouldn't even thoug...

BREAKFAST WITH JESUS A daily devotional Pastor Stanley 16th DECEMBER 2024 AN OUTSTRETCHED ARM Exodus 6:6 "Therefore, say to the Israelites: ’I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. (NIV) The above scripture was God's profound words to the Israelites. He said "I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians." Again He said "I will redeem you with an outstretched arm." That outstretched arm was actually by Moses. It was by the hand of Moses God did mighty miracles and delivered the Israelites out of bondage in Egypt. God couldn't do it without Moses. Moses was His outstretched arm to save them.  Today the Church is God's outstretched arm to save the world, and you are a part of the Church. You are God's outstretched arm, His extension to reach and bless the wo...
