GOD'S SPECIAL POSSESSION


1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.(NIV)


God's dream had always been to have a special people unto Himself. A people that would bear His name. When He called the Israelites His intention was to make them His special possession. Deuteronomy 14:2 for you are a people holy to the LORD your God. Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the LORD has chosen you to be his treasured possession.


For the disobedient of the Israelites that dream was short lived. At some time in their walk with God they went into exile for their sins and rebellion. But God didn't give up on His dream. In Christ He made the church His special and treasured possession. 


If you are born again you are not just another person on the face of the earth. No! Out of all the people on the face of the earth God has chosen you to be His special possession. Special possession denotes that there are other of His possessions but you are special; His treasured possession. All the people on the face of the earth belongs to God but you are His asset, His pride, His special, peculiar and treasured possession. This means that everything that concerns you is God's concern. 


As God's special possession He has a special calling for your life. You are called to declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. This is what you should be about while you take a stroll through this world. Hallelujah!


CONFESSION


God chose me and made me a royal priesthood, a holy nation and His special possession. His thoughts and good are turned towards me, and I declare His praises, works and glory in this world, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

(NIV) The Apostle Paul writing to the Church in Philippi, said they should rejoice in the Lord always. He didn't say they should rejoice in themselves but in the Lord. That calls for spiritual insight.  It takes spiritual insight to see what we got in the Lord and rejoice. When you are ask to rejoice over something it means that it holds significance and value. Chapter 2 Episode 2 LOVE FULFILS THE LAW Romans 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments, "You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder," "You shall not steal," "You shall not covet," and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
