THE FOUR LEPERS

Read 2Kings 7:1-11

The true story here tells us of the four lepers who made up their mind and took a life-changing step. A step that would change your life often looks like a step that would break you. To know the result of your decision you must first take the decision.

Verse 3: Now there were four men with leprosy at the entrance of the city gate. They said to each other. Why stay here until we die?

It was a time of great famine in the land of Israel. These four lepers were staying at the gate of the city. The famine was so severe, terrible to bear and survive in. They  had no hope. Staying at the city gate connotes rejection, cast away, not worthy and not useful.

I do not know your state of rejection, abandonment, poverty, barrenness and shame. I don’t know how low and down you are right now, but, why stay there until you die? You might be down beyond your understanding but don't dwell on it, beyond where your faith could lift you but don't rule yourself out, take a step out of it. Why stay there until you die?


WHY STAY HERE UNTIL YOU DIE?

Verse 4: If we say; we will go into the city the famine is there and we will die.  And if we stay here we will die, so let’s go over to the camp of the Arameans and surrender, if they spare us we live, if they kill us then we die.

What a faith and boldness demonstrated by these four lepers! They refused to go back to the city, they refused to remain where they were (at the city gate). They just made up their mind to move forward even if it would cost them their lives.

Why not demonstrate that same faith in your life? Why not make up your mind to take a step and move forward? Refuse to go backward in life, refuse to remain in pain, make up your mind to progress.

The step the four lepers took was a risk that could have cost them their lives but they undermined the dangers and moved forward. Refuse to be stopped by any risk or impending danger and move your life forward by taking a necessary step to greatness.

Chapter 2 Episode 2 LOVE FULFILS THE LAW Romans 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
