ALWAYS GIVE THANKS

Ephesians 5:20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (NIV)

In the ordinary sense giving of thanks is mainly in appreciation for the good one received. But in our Kingdom there is a higher one; an expression of one's will and obedience to God's command to give thanks. Our opening verse Ephesians 5:20 says "always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."

This giving of thanks has nothing to do with the happenings, whether favourably or not. It is God's will for us to give thanks always and it is a command. It is an instruction we are mandated to carry out. It is one of those things we should practise daily. Giving thanks is actually praises to God. 

Always give thanks. You don't have to look at the happenings. Yes, there is that kind of thanksgiving; thanking God for what He's done for you. But there is something higher than that; giving thanks with an attitude of praise rather than appreciation. Praise God giving thanks and praise to His Name. 

Always give thanks. That requires an attitude and habit. Make it your habit and attitude to always give thanks to God the Father for everything in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. 

PRAYER

Father I give thanks and praise to you. You are Holy and righteousness, and your ways are just and true. Your Name is hallowed, your name is sovereign. I give praise to you Father, I worship you in thanks in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Chapter 2 Episode 2 LOVE FULFILS THE LAW Romans 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
