CLOTHE YOURSELF WITH COMPASSION

Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (NIV)

The Bible instructs us to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. In other words we should let these be evident in our lives. You can't say "I am clothed with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." No! It's not by words. It's by action; it is what you minister to people.

What the Bible actually mean by our opening verse is that we should express compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience towards others. All of these are virtues with which we bless our world. And they are spiritual substance or unction that is inherent in our recreated human spirits. 

You have compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience in you, give vent to them. Be compassionate; let your heart go out to people in need or challenged, and let your hand follow. Be kind; kindness is not only in words but action. Be open-handed, minister gifts in kindness.

Be humble, gentle and patience towards everyone. As you do these the glory of divinity will all the more be evident in your life. Expressing these is an expression of glory. Be compassionate, kind, humble, gentle and patience towards everyone.

I am a partaker of God's divine nature and as such compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience are inherent in me, and I give expression to them, blessing my world, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

(NIV) The Apostle Paul writing to the Church in Philippi, said they should rejoice in the Lord always. He didn't say they should rejoice in themselves but in the Lord. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. (NIV) We should not have offense we cannot forgive. But at times we find ourselves in a situation where forgiveness seems difficult. If we apply our emotions and how hurt we are, it will be difficult to forgive. Chapter 2 Episode 2 LOVE FULFILS THE LAW Romans 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments, "You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder," "You shall not steal," "You shall not covet," and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
