DOING GOOD IS SACRIFICE

Hebrews 13:16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. (NIV)

Doing good is an act of sacrifice. Doing good means giving either your time, knowledge, resources, money or property. This means that whatever good you are doing actually takes from you. And at times it is not convenient for you yet you do it anyway. That is sacrifice.

If we only want to do good to others when it is very convenient for us then we might never do good. We minister good to others not really because we have so much to spare but because we have the heart to and are willing, knowing fully well it is God's will. 

In Hebrews 13:16 the Bible says "And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased."

It is faith that pleases God. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Doing good pleases God. Doing good is an act of faith. That's why James said in James 2:15-17 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

Doing good is a pleasing sacrifice to God. Train yourself to do it, practise it. 

CONFESSION

I please God through my sacrificial giving. I am a doer of the Word, I do good and share with others as instructed by the Word. My faith is alive and active accompanied by good deeds, thereby producing evidential results in my life. Amen.

(NIV) The Apostle Paul writing to the Church in Philippi, said they should rejoice in the Lord always. He didn't say they should rejoice in themselves but in the Lord. Chapter 2 Episode 2 LOVE FULFILS THE LAW Romans 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
