BY WISDOM A HOUSE IS BUILT


Proverbs 24:3-4 By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures. (NIV)


In yesterday's devotional we learnt that spoken words are tools with which we build our life (house). Today's opening verse says that by wisdom a house is built. The house refers here is one's life. By wisdom one's life is built. How the building or structure of your life turns out depends on your application of wisdom. Gods Word acted upon is wisdom.


Though the written word or revealed word of God is wisdom, it cannot change anyone's life until one act on it. That's why you find people who knows the Scriptures but the impact doesn't show in their lives. Knowing the word is Sophia (greek), understanding or comprehending the word is Sunesis (greek), and acting upon it is Phronesis (greek). It is Phronesis that changes situation because Phronesis is an active force.


Through Phronesis a house is built. Don't find yourself among those who complain how bad things are in their lives in spite of the word of God they know. It is not the amount of the word that you know that would change things but the word you act upon. Use words as tools to build your life. Speak God's truth concerning you consistently and act correspondingly.


Don't just speak the Word and go away, act accordingly. Your speaking gives you light or direction to walk in. Let your action follow what you say. That's where the results lies. Then your life would be built, established and filled with rare and beautiful treasures. Hallelujah!

Through my speaking and acting on the infallible Word of God my life is built, through my application of understanding it is established, and it is filled with rare and beautiful treasures through my use of knowledge, thereby bringing glory and praise to God Almighty, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Chapter 2 Episode 2 LOVE FULFILS THE LAW Romans 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
