HE'S PREPARED A CITY FOR US

Hebrews 11:15-16 If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country —a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them. (NIV)

All our faith-family members that ever lived in this world didn't remain here, they all left. Not because of the troubles they faced here. No! The Bible tells us that they conquered and overcame through faith. The Bible also tells us why they left, in Hebrews 11:15-16, If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country —a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.

And not only to them but also for everyone of us. God has prepared a city for us all. Our life is beyond this world, so we live beyond the world. We are not a hopeless people. We came into this world because God has a purpose and an assignment we should fulfill here. From our history we had always left when we had completed our given purpose in a given generation. We have a place He prepared for us; a heavenly city not built with human hands. And He is not ashamed to call us His people.

You shouldn't be ashamed to look forward to your heavenly city. Your focus should be set on it. No matter what you are achieving here or acquiring they should only be instruments for the work of the Kingdom. Your greatest affection should be on the Kingdom in which a city is prepared for you. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Thank You Father for setting eternity in my heart. I do not set my heart on earthly things but on heavenly, looking forward with joy to the city whose builder and architect is God. Thank You for preparing a city for me where righteousness, peace and glory dwells. Amen.

Chapter 2 Episode 2 LOVE FULFILS THE LAW Romans 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
