SEEK AND PRAY FOR PEACE WITH PROSPERITY


Jeremiah 29:7 Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper." (NIV)


There are two word-elements here we should consider carefully; SEEK and PRAY. 

God did not ask us to only seek the peace and prosperity of our nations but to also pray the same. Firstly, even in our personal lives, if we only seek peace and prosperity, and not pray for the same, chances are we won't get there. We might get something that looks like it but it can never be it. Prayer alone cannot make us prosperous nor does seeking alone. The two elements must be combined.


If you were actively advocating for peace and prosperity in your locality and not pray along, you would only end up wearing out yourself. And if on the other hand you are only praying for peace and prosperity but not seeking or promoting the same your prayers would be answered by God but the result or manifestation would be minimal. Because God expects you to promote peace and prosperity, and to live at peace with all men.


There is a reason God says you should seek the peace and prosperity of the city or nation you live, and pray the same for it. It is because if it prospers, you too will prosper. Your prosperity lies with the prosperity of the place you live. That's very important. It's your responsibility to seek and pray for the peace and prosperity of the place you live. Assume it and do it consistently.


PRAYER


Father I pray for the peace and prosperity of my nation. I seek the same in my words and actions, knowing that in its peace and prosperity is my peace and prosperity, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Chapter 2 Episode 2 LOVE FULFILS THE LAW Romans 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
