IT IS FOR FREEDOM
Galatians 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (NIV)
This above verse clearly implies that freedom is the purpose for which Christ set us free. He set us free so that we could experience and enjoy freedom, and walk in it continually.
God doesn't want us to be under any bondage to anything or anyone, or being controlled by anything or anyone. Only God is above us, His children. We can only be under His Lordship, leadership and Fatherhood. We are not in bondage to God and He doesn't manipulate our lives. It is not His idea that we should be manipulated by any man, devil or circumstances of life. He wants us free. God want you free. Don't let yourself be burdened and controlled by senses, demons or circumstances of life. And don't be in bondage to men.
Galatians 4:25-26 Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.
Hagar and Sarah represents old and new testament children respectively. The earthly Jerusalem stands for those who received the law and are in bondage. But the heavenly Jerusalem stands for those born of the Spirit and are free. Freedom is actually of the Holy Spirit.
Galatians 4:23-24 His son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a divine promise. These things are being taken figuratively: The women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar.
One of the callings of the Spirit in your life is to express God's freedom. You can't fulfill your destiny in Christ if you don't walk in freedom. It is for freedom He set you free, walk in it. Only those who are free can truly worship God. You have received the Spirit of freedom, walk in it.
CONFESSION
It is for freedom that Christ has set me free, I walk in it. I do not let myself be burdened again by any yoke of slavery. For I have received the Spirit of God, and where the Spirit of God is, there is freedom. Therefore I walk in freedom continually, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
