DON'T BITE EACH OTHER
Galatians 5:14-15 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. (NIV)
The Bible declares that every one of us who has received Christ is a member of the Body of Christ. And as such all of us makes up one individual body. I am you and you are me. And we all belongs to each other. Our theme scripture instructs us not to bite and devour each other or we might destroy ourselves. Yet some of us don't yield to this.
You find in the church all manner of gossips. We malign each other. We criticize each other. We backstab each other and eventually we are destroying ourselves. This is one of the reasons the church of our day is not walking in power.
The early church walked in love and walked in power. They were of one mind. Whenever they had dispute they quickly reconciled. But some of our churches today is political and faction. We have factions inside our churches today probably headed by different Pastors. In a church were there are many pastors you find that they each have their loyalists and as such the church is divided.
In 1 Corinthians 3 we see members divided into factions of those following Paul, Peter and Apollos respectively, but Apostle Paul resolved it. How many ministers would act like Apostle Paul today?
Love should be the basis of all that is done in the church. If everyone would walk in love towards everyone everything would work out just fine.
Let love lead. Let us all observe this rule "Love your neighbor as yourself." and stop biting and devouring each other.
PRAYER
Father I reject every spirit of division in the church. We rebuke the spirit of malice, hatred, dissension and gossip. We embrace love, kindness, patient, mercy and favour toward one another, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
