FAITH AND ACTION WORKS TOGETHER

James 2:21-22 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. (NIV)

True faith is action. Faith is not mere mental assent but a conviction of the spirit that propels to action. Faith is a force which condition your spirit to act in line with the Word. 

Abraham's faith was credited to him as righteousness based on what he did not based merely on what he heard assented. If you heard the Word and believe you won't get the results just by that. You will have to act on the Word. It is when the Word you heard become action that you get the reward of faith. 

Faith and action works together to produce result. The first working of faith is talking the Word you heard and believed. But that's just the beginning of faith. You will have to act in a way or ways that correspond with your words. Faith is acting your words. 

James has something to tell us about faith. Let's read!
James 2:14-17 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

Faith must be accompanied by action. You heard and believed the Word. The Word teaches us to love, act on it, love others. You believe you are the righteousness of God in Christ, act on it. The Word teaches us to give, act on it. The results and rewards of faith comes only by acting on it. 

Faith is not agreeing with what you heard but allowing what you heard to culture your life and influence your actions. Faith and action works together. When your faith is accompanied by actions the result is undeniable. 

CONFESSION

I do not only believe the Word that I hear but also do what it says. My true faith is action, and it is alive and active producing the results of what it says as I act on the Word, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

(NIV) The Apostle Paul writing to the Church in Philippi, said they should rejoice in the Lord always. He didn't say they should rejoice in themselves but in the Lord. Chapter 2 Episode 2 LOVE FULFILS THE LAW Romans 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
