LOOK AWAY FROM THEM

Hebrews 12:2 Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (AMP)

In a world where there are many things that seeks to distract, one has to deliberately keep focus on Jesus. Things that would distract you would come freely, you will have to make conscious effort to look away from them. 

Hardship or hard times could be a distraction from what the Lord has laid in your heart to accomplish. Good things and good times could be distraction also. You have to manage what you give attention to. It might seem good but could be distracting. The Bible says "Looking away from all that will distract to Jesus." 

Jesus for the joy set before Him; the joy of obtaining the prize (our salvation) endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame. 
One of the ways to not being distracted is keeping eyes on the prize. We have a prize to win here on earth and hereafter. Keeping an eye on this keeps you away from distraction. It also helps us to endure our own cross today, despising and ignoring the shame. 

Look away from everything else that seeks to dominate and distract you from your walk of faith, and look unto Jesus the Author and perfecter of your faith.

CONFESSION

I refuse to be distracted by hard times or good times, by hardship or good things, but look unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of my faith. For the joy set before me I am able to endure the challenges and come out victoriously, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
