LEARN TO ADAPT

Romans 12:16 Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty (snobbish, high-minded, exclusive), but readily adjust yourself to [people, things] and give yourselves to humble tasks. Never overestimate yourself or be wise in your own conceits. (AMP)

The easiest way to live in harmony with people is to learn to adapt to their personalities. Don't expect people to change for you. Don't see yourself as the standard that everyone else has to adjust to. You will only and always find yourself in constant trouble with people. 

While you are here on earth, and even in heaven you will have to live with people. People are not the same. Thinking that anyone should function as you and act only in ways that won't offend you is believing a lie. Don't build your life on such a mindset. Even your children whom you raised with your mindset would have a different mindset. No one is like you. No one is the standard for others. Everyone of us has to look to Christ as the standard and adjust to people, things and circumstances around us. 

Have you wonder why couple who so loved each other fight and quarrel? It is personality clash. It is not because they don't genuinely love each other. No two personalities are the same. Both have built their personalities over the years and shouldn't expect either's personality to swallow up the other. They will both exhibit their respective personality. The key is learning to adapt to one another's personality and seeing and enjoying the beauty in the other. 

Instead of hoping the people around you would change for you, change your attitude towards them and accept them the way they are.

PRAYER

Father more than ever before I want to adapt to people, things and circumstances as need be. I want to be all things to all people in order to please you better. I refuse to be haughty and proud but to relate with others in humility, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

(NIV) The Apostle Paul writing to the Church in Philippi, said they should rejoice in the Lord always. He didn't say they should rejoice in themselves but in the Lord. Chapter 2 Episode 2 LOVE FULFILS THE LAW Romans 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
