TRUST IN HIS NAME
Psalms 20:7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. (NIV)
In this world everyone has what they trust in. Some it is their parents' influence and connection. Some trust in their own riches, some their fame. And still there are those who trust in voodoo power.
As a Christian you must define your trust. Just because you bear "Christian" doesn't necessarily mean your trust is in the Name of the Lord. You have to prove it in the face of adversity. Do you hold on to the Name when things are not going well? Do you maintain your trust in His Name when hard-pressed on everyside? Your sincere answer to these questions will show where your trust truly lies.
Trust means reliance. Rely on His Name. You don't rely on something that doesn't have the power to sustain you. It's important you understand the power of His Name or the power vested in His Name. That alone will boost your faith and trust in His Name. Philippians 2:9-11 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
What happens when you trust in His Name?
Psalms 20:8 They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.
When you trust in His Name you rise up and stand firm when others are brought down to their knees and fall. Look away from your troubles to trust in His Name.
PRAYER
Precious Father, people may trust in anything else they want, some may trust in the government, the economy, their influence, fame and riches. But Lord I will trust in your Name forever and ever, in your Name I rise up above every adversity and stand firm victoriously, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
