GIVING AND RECEIVING

Philippians 4:15 Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only; (NIV)

The principle of giving and receiving is a fundamental principle of blessing in the Kingdom of God. Often times we want to receive but never thought of giving first. The principle is "giving and receiving" not "receiving and giving." You are to give first before receiving. Everyone has something to give, even something little. And that could just be enough for multiplication. Learn to give to God's work, church projects and the needy.

An important aspect of giving is that our givings are deposited into our heavenly bank account. When we got born again into the Kingdom an account was opened for us. Any good we do here is credited there. Every of our giving to God's work and the needy is recorded and deposited into our heavenly account. 
Apostle Paul revealed that to us in Philippians 4:17, He said "Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account."

Everyone of us should desire to give and give more. We should cultivate a giving habit and intentionally excel in the grace of giving. Some of us excel or do well in many other aspects but giving. 
2 Corinthians 8:7 But since you excel in everything —in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you —see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

The grace of giving is a supernatural working of the Spirit upon our heart. And everyone of us has it, we only need to give expression to it. Apostle Paul in this verse did not say they should pray for or receive the grace of giving but that they should excel in it. That means it was in them, and in us too. Excel in the grace of giving; do it consciously and intentionally, knowing that great glory and blessings lies there for you.

PRAYER

Father thank You that I excel in everything, in faith, speech, knowledge, earnestness and love, I excel also in the grace of giving. Through my giving the Gospel shall spread abroad. I key in and function in the principle of giving and receiving, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Chapter 2 Episode 2 LOVE FULFILS THE LAW Romans 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
