GOD'S POWER TO SAVE

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. (NIV)

The Gospel is good news. Good news to the poor that in Christ they have been made rich. Good news to the sick that in Christ they have been made well. Good news to the weak and hopeless that in Christ they have strength and hope. This is so because Christ took man's place of sin and its consequences and gave man His life and its blessings. 

When you preach to people preach the Gospel. Don't preach your experience, your knowledge or some story. Preach the Gospel! It is the only power by which God saves. When it says power it means right. Simply put "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is God's right to save everyone who believes..." 
God doesn't have the legal right to save anyone outside the Gospel of Christ, outside what Christ did for humanity.

When you preach Christ and Him crucified for sinners, that gives God the legal right to save sinners. Because Jesus became sin offering for them and had died their death. He had been condemned to death for man and raised to life for man's justification. Only in Christ is man truly justified.
And only in the Gospel of Christ does man have righteousness.
Romans 1:17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed —a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."

God's power to save is the Gospel of Christ. God's power to credit righteousness is the Gospel of Christ. Preach the Gospel. It doesn't have to make sense to men of senses. It had never made sense to them. Don't try to appeal to man's senses as you preach the Gospel, that won't save them. Preach Jesus' death for man's sin and His resurrection for man's justification. That's the Gospel; God's power to save.

CONFESSION

I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed —a righteousness that is by faith from first to last. For Jesus was delivered over to death for man's sins and was raised to life for man's justification. Amen.
