THE MATURE BODY OF HIM

Ephesians 4:15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. (NIV)

The Church is the body of Christ. And could be immature or mature as the case may be. There is an immature body of Christ, that is, when the majority of a local church is not grown or matured in the truths of the Gospel and the Kingdom. 

Maturity comes when we know how to speak the truth in love. Ephesians 4:15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.

It is only the mature body of Christ that effectively carry out its responsibilities of salvation, light and blessing to the world. You see, the head only gives instructions to the body, it is the body which carries out the desires or instructions from the head. Jesus is the head, the Church is His body. If His body is not matured and strong it cannot carry out His desires and purposes.

We are joined to Head and held together by every one's support, we grow and build ourselves unto maturity as each one of us does his work. 
Ephesians 4:16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

Each one of us has his or her responsibility in the body of Christ and we only grow when we identify and assume that responsibility. Our growth unto maturity depends on us. Until we reach that maturity we may not be able to handle the troubles and persecutions that comes against the Church. 
So make it a personal desire and pursuit to become in every respect the mature body of Him. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Precious Lord it is your desire that we all grow to become your mature body; strong, wise, sensitive and yielding to walking in the truth, and today, I pray that we all speaking the truth in love may grow up in every respect unto maturity as each one does his work. Amen.
