WORDS OF THANKS

Ephesians 5:20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (NIV)

When we thank God the words we utter matters the most. It's important you listen to what you say to God when you give thanks. Your words should convey or carry what you thank Him for you. True thanksgiving is a testimony. If you don't find a testimony in your thanks to God it is not from your heart. If you searched your heart you would find tangible things to thank God for.

 When our theme scripture says "always giving thanks to God the Father for everything." It doesn't mean everything you don't know. But everything you do know. You may thank God generally for all things but thanking Him for specific things is recognition and appreciation. And that is acknowledgment. 
When you thank God for specific things you are acknowledging Him as your source, ability, wisdom and sufficiency.

Words of thanks are very important. Those words communicate what you thank Him for. In your words acknowledge what He did for you and what it means to you. Don't rush your prayer of thanks. Don't just say them quickly before the Lord and then leaves. No! Brood and ruminate over them; recall how He helped you, blessed and delivered you. Count those blessings before Him, call them by name. And the Bible says you do this in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

And by Him you continually offer to God those words of praise and thanks. And they are sacrifice of praise to God.
Hebrews 13:15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

PRAYER

Father I give thanks to your Name today. Thank you for blessings me, thank you for victory, for deliverance from troubles, thank you for providing a way out of my trial, thank You for the efficacy of your word and the results it has produced for me and through me. Thank You for this outgoing year. Blessed be your Holy Name. Amen.
