THE PLANTING OF THE LORD

Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. (KJV)

The Bible calls us trees of righteousness, and that we are the planting of the Lord. That tells us that righteousness is not of ourselves but of the Lord. No tree ever planted itself. We are trees of righteousness and it is God who planted us. 

Note in the verse below that righteousness is the topic of discussion and that Christ is the righteousness that came down from heaven. Let us read.
Romans 10:6-7 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, ’Who will ascend into heaven?’" (that is, to bring Christ down) "or ’Who will descend into the deep?’" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).

Who will ascend into heaven to bring righteousness down? Who will descend into the deep that is to bring righteousness up from the dead? When Christ died He was planted in the heart of the earth, and at His resurrection He multiplied, we were added to Him and we became God's righteousness. We are the trees from the seed of righteousness (Christ) which God planted. 
Psalms 85:11 Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.

He came down from heaven, He died and was buried, and then sprang out of the earth; we were raised together with Him with His righteousness. 

Righteousness is all of God; it is God's nature given to us at new birth. No one could ever earn it or can ever earn it. Understanding this truth is paramount to walking in God's glory. The access to manifesting God's glory is His righteousness. Righteousness is a gift and by it we reign and rule in life.
Romans 5:17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!

We are God's trees of righteousness, He planted us for the display of His glory, that glory is the fruits of righteousness. 2 Corinthians 9:10 ...and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)

We are to produce works or fruits of righteousness because we are trees of righteousness. In this world God can only express His righteousness through us, and we must be willing to give vent to it.

Be conscious that you are the righteousness of God in Christ, and live according bringing forth fruits of righteousness.

CONFESSION

I am a tree of righteousness; a planting of the Lord for the display of His glory. I produce fruits of righteousness and give full expression to the righteousness of God in thoughts, words and actions, bringing glory to my heavenly Father, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
