IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND

1 Corinthians 2:12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. (NIV)

Many of us are not living in the provisions of the Gospel, we pray, we even fast, but still we do not fully live in them. The answer is clearly spelled out in our theme verse. We are given the Spirit of God in order that we may understand what God has freely given us. God has already freely given us all things, what we need is to understand what and what He has freely given us. And it is only the Holy Spirit who can help us understand those things and bring us into them. 

Apostle Paul knew that it takes the Holy Spirit and His enlightenment of the heart for a Christian to know what God has freely given him. So in Ephesians 1:18 he prayed for the believers, "I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,"

Many Christians do not know they have an inheritance in Christ. All of the things we pray for has already been given to us freely by God. All we require is to yield to the Holy Spirit and His ministry, He will guide us to understand what God has freely given us in Christ. 

He gave us His Spirit in order that we may know what He has already done for us. Let us read 1 Corinthians 2:12-13 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.

The first step to enjoying what God has freely given you in Christ is to speak them forth as the Spirit make them known to you. Don't speak ill, sickness, weakness and poverty, these are not what God has given you. Speak rather righteousness, health, riches, power, faith, hope and love, and enjoy the blessings thereof. Amen!

CONFESSION

God has not given me the spirit of fear or timidity, but the the Spirit of power, love and a sound mind. What I have received is not the spirit of the world but the Spirit from God, and He teaches and reveals to me the things God has freely given me in Christ, and these are what I speak and live in, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

WISDOM KEEPS YOU FROM ADULTERY Nothing destroys a man or woman than sexual immorality, and more so adultery. But if you heed to wisdom it will keep you from this.
