HE MEETS OUR NEED
Hebrews 7:25-26 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. Such a high priest truly meets our need —one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. (NIV)
The Lord Jesus met our need of salvation; He saved us completely unlike the old testament high priests who would offer animals yearly to save the Israelites from their sins. Yet the annual sacrifice of animals were mere remembrance of their sins not removal. But Jesus removed our sins once and for all with the sacrifice of Himself.
The Lord Jesus indeed met our need of salvation and everything else (within salvation) because He always lives, He is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners and exalted above the heavens. He met our need for salvation, and He meets our needs today because He is still and forever our High Priest.
Hebrews 7:27 Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.
The sacrifice of Himself is forever adequate for our sins, and His life He gave us met our needs for all eternity. Salvation; deliverance, completeness (wholeness) and preservation is found only in Jesus.
Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved."
And this should motivate us to preach Jesus to the unsaved world because we know salvation, healing and blessings are found only in Jesus. Only the Lord Jesus has met man's need of salvation, and He alone meets man's needs today. Let us arm ourselves with this truth and go for the unsaved world. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank You for Jesus who willingly gave His life as a sacrifice for man's sins, in order to create a new humanity in your exact image and likeness. As we preach Jesus and the sacrifice of Himself for man's sins may the hearts of men be opened to receive, believe and be saved, and may the light of the truth of the Gospel prevail in all the earth, in Jesus' Name. Amen!
