HE MADE US RICH

2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich. (NIV)

Some people argue that this above scripture is not material or physical riches but spiritual. But their argument is not in line with the provision or true meaning of the Gospel. The good news of what Jesus came to do for us has spiritual and physical implications. Man struggled and lived in poverty because of his spiritual state, which was separated from God, poor and wretched.

The Lord Jesus restored us back to God, and as sons. We are heir of God, and the whole world and everything in it belongs God and by extension to us. Psalms 24:1 The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;
Think about this scripture again!
Everything in this world belongs to God; including the dollars in America, Euro in Europe, pound sterling in the UK and all other currencies and their figures all around the world. And as heir of God you have inherited all these.

One of the reasons some say what is declared in 2 Corinthians 8:9 is not material riches is because of their experience. They have never lived in such riches where lack and want no longer exist. They perpetually live in lack and want, so they concluded that that scripture means spiritual riches. But the truth is the riches referred in 2 Corinthians 8:9 is both physical and spiritual.

God says "’The silver is mine and the gold is mine,’ declares the LORD Almighty." -- Haggai 2:8.
Silver and gold means money and riches. But God doesn't use money or riches, not even spiritual riches. So who's the silver and gold meant for? The answer is in the preceding verse to Haggai 2:8.
Haggai 2:7 I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the LORD Almighty.

What is desired by all nations is riches. And God says I will fill my house (the church) with the glory of riches. That's what the above scripture means. That's why in the very next verse He says the silver is mine and the gold is mine.
If you have not been living in riches don't say God doesn't want you rich, no! He wants you rich, and has actually already made you rich in Christ.
You role is to recognize this truth, acknowledge it and live in the light of it. You might not manifest the riches over night but as you persist in affirming this truth and walking in Its light it won't take long your riches will spread abroad.

Riches is having more than enough for yourself and the work the Lord has given you. That means if you have ten thousand dollars and it is enough for yourself and the work the Lord has given you, you are rich. But if another person has one million dollars and it is not enough for himself and the work the Lord has given him he is poor. There is no single parameter that defines everyone's riches. One man's riches can be another man's poverty, even God's sight. Your fulfilled vision or assignment defines your riches. If you have a vision you cannot afford financially you are still poor irrespective of the figure you have in your bank account.
Delight to walk in the riches of Christ.

CONFESSION

I refuse to be anything less than Christ has made me or have less than what He has given me. For I know the grace of my Lord Jesus Christ that though He was rich yet for my sake He became poor so that I through His poverty might become rich, therefore I have become rich and I walk in it, in Jesus' Name. Amen!
